My… baby… boy. *sob*

It’s been a good day for him, really. He’s always been certain he’s invisible to girls, mostly because his babyhood love of his life is constantly shooting him down, but yeah, anyway. Heh. He’s always been a little down about it, the older he gets. I keep encouraging him, while at the same time wanting these girls to STAY AWAY FROM MY BAYBEE DAMMIT!

Ahem.

So, the Girl’s Awana’s teachers got together and paid for the girl to go to an overnight camp tonight out at the local Bible Camp. She’s very excited - they’ve a giant tubing hill that claimed at least one pair of my glasses as victim while I was growing up. heh. I drove her out, and signed the papers and such, and then as she was waiting to be taken to her cabin, the work crew gal says “Hey! you go to KMS, right?” and the girl says “Yeah.” and this Very Cute Girl says “[Theboy] is your brother, right?” and The girl again, confirms it. And then…

This little trollop Very Cute Girl And her Very Cute Friend say in unison “Saaaaweeeeeeeeeeeet!!!”

SWEET!

THEY KNOW MY BAYBEE EXISTS!

On the one hand, I’m very happy for him. On the other? I want to lock him in his room forever. *L* Me being the good mom though, I whipped out the cell phone and called him right away (He was babysitting the pup) and after I assured him that no, I wasn’t standing right in front of them! but had waited until I got to the car to call, he was all grinning so wide I heard it in the phone.

Awesome.

Then the wench at Subway just called him “Sweetheart”.

I’m so not ready for this. *Sob*

(ps - going to attempt to upgrade wordpress this evening to the new release. Um. if I break it - I’ll be back, eventually. Don’t you three loyal readers despair too much. *g*)

Photo Scavenger Hunt

December 30th, 2005 -- Posted in family | 1 Comment »

colorful gourdsSo, today is the final day of the Trial Version of the Online Photo Scavenger Hunt! It’s been a lot of fun to watch the kids go through each week, think about shots, getting to meet people who were very helpful in my kids (and me!) getting the shots we needed and/or wanted. The final standings aren’t in - the last posted were from a couple weeks ago, so we won’t know who the final winner is for a bit yet - current standings have me in 3rd, the girl tied for 5th, the pup tied for 7th and the boy in 8th over all. Not bad, if I do say so myself! It’s been a lot of fun, and I’m looking foward to participating in the next one, starting next week.

If you’d like to see all of our pictures, I’ve arranged the whole shebang into one set on flikr. This set has mine first, plus some of the kids taking their photos, then all of the ones the kids took for the hunt in the past 10 weeks too. Enjoy!

My submission for this weeks photo hunt. Theme: The letter X in sign, that is not a railroad crossing. Xtra point if it’s not part of a word.

This is the window sign for one of my local clients, Xtreme Wildlife Magazine. *grin*

Beam Prints - framed n hung!

December 28th, 2005 -- Posted in thisnthat | 1 Comment »

Oooooooooh how I love the frames I found for my Jason Beam prints I got for Christmas! Don’t they look fabulous? So what if I have to rearrange every picture on every wall… *Grins* it’s worth it. I’ve been meaning to rearrange the Family wall anyway - now I’ve no excuse, and need to do it.

And I finally signed up for the mailing list at Jason Beam’s site? And I? GOT AN EMAIL FROM HIM! Yes. I’m aware he answers all his email - but well. I GOT ONE!

/stalker-ish segment. *Grin*
