ShePassed

Or well, something like that! It’s a big day for the Pup, that’s for sure! Today, after working hard for just 7 lessons, she passed out of Level 2 swimming with flying colors! She was SO EXCITED when she got her certificate that she FORGOT to grab her CANDY in her rush to get the paper over to me to show off and tell me that she had done it! Sure, she went back for the candy, but that she forgot her sugar high for even that long? Testament to how much this means to her.

Here’s a vid of her last day in class:

In just this short of time her head bobbing free style is less bobby, and she’s starting to pick up side breathing, her backstroke is lean and strong, and she goes off the diving board with no hesitations – she even goes FIRST now instead of watching the other kids go first. I think we FINALLY found her sport. Group sports/Team sports were always a competition for attention, and now she is competing first and foremost against herself, even though she’ll be part of a team too. Even though her one great wish is to BEAT THE PANTS OFF HER COUSINS over the next year. Here’s hoping she does that at least once before the testosterone kicks off in the boys and they leave her in the dust.

Speaking of the nephews – it was another big day for D-man too! Check it out!

NO TWISTS! That’s right, on the early show this morning (Thanks Reality BBQ for capturing it as it’s not aired in my area for another hour or so!) Julie asked Allison Grodner straight up “Why no twist this year?” and Grodner confirmed that it was a chance with Big Brother 10 to go back to basics, 13 strangers dueling it out for the cash. Whoo!

Here’s the youtube, and it was apparently filmed the same day as the others, as there’s STILL 14 slots on that memory wall…

We’re two days away from Premiere Day! Time to do all the things you’ll be ignoring for the next three months. You know, do the dishes, the laundry, kiss your kids and/or your SO. Then make sure you’re feeds are up and running, you got us bookmarked for daily spoilers (remember to click the link above or two the left (conveniently containing the houseguests pictures now!) to go straight to ONLY Big Brother News!), and stock up on snacks and caffeine! It’s time kids! WHOOOO!

There was SO MUCH hair on this week’s Shear Genius! Think I’m kidding? Check it out – one of the models had hair that was 62 inches long! It was longer then the stylist was tall! All of the ladies in the shortcut challenge had really long hair, which shocked the contestants. Though shocking was the twist – they couldn’t cut a single strand of hair in their efforts to give them a new look that was interesting and structurely complicated! They all did their best, but none of them really wowed me. The judges had some favorites, of course, and Nicole’s was outright and universally considered frightening. She blamed it on her model not having any hair – hah. She had a lot, it was just very fine – there was something that COULD have been done. Nakisa, however, is the one on the bottom – she admits to having panicking, and not handling the pressure well.

The two favorites were Matthew and Charlie – though Meredith is catty and says it looks like the prom date without a date. haha. Mathew is the winner of the Short Cut challenge, which means he gets first choice of models in the elimination challenge and decide the order the others pick in – they don’t get to see the clients though as they choose – just the dress. Matthew talks about his wife 1120937512 times, and I want to slap him – is he trying to hard to prove his heteroness? Seriously.

The elimination challenge is Red Carpet Glam. They have two hours, and some really rock it out with fantastic and well photographed ‘dos, while there are quite a few don’ts too. Glenn, Charlie and Gail come out on top, and it’s Charlie who gets his picture on the wall once more. Color the other contestants pissed off behind frozen happy smiles. Hah. Nicole, Matthew and Paulo are the bottom three, which is quite a fall for Matthew from winning the shortcut challenge. He committed the cardinal sin, though, and didn’t listen to his client when she told him her hair wouldn’t hold curl – lo and behold, it didn’t and he’s the one who’s sent home to his wonderful perfect 10 of a wife. He says “good.” and is gone. Alrighty then… Meridith is catty some more, and I kinda love her for it.

The best part of any elimination show isn’t the solos, in my opinion, nor the guest dancers/singers. Nope, it’s the group performances that start off the show – THATS what I love, and this one is no different, though it’s not my favorite so far… it’s still pretty cool. I mean, GLOW IN THE DARK! Duh. Can’t go wrong with that!

Now, the guest performance – that was truly moving! Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater had three of their dancers perform, and it was simply stunning. The musical guest to fill in the space while Judges deliberate was Katy Perry, singing “I Kissed a Girl.” Which is oddly catchy and has been stuck in my head all bloody day.

There were no surprises in the final three – except possibly Jessica and Will, though when there’s only 6 couples and half of them are going to end in the bottom, it’s really not overly shocking one of my favorites ended up dancing for their lives. Joining them there was Twitchington, and Comfort and Thayne once again.

The solos were great as usual, though Comfort looked hurried and panicked though Nigel thought it was brilliant. Kherington was stunning, and Jessica was somewhere in the middle. Will was fanfreakingtastic – he’s just so beautiful to watch, Twitch was total fun, and Thayne rocked it as well. The judges wished they could keep all three boys and ditch two girls, but it wasn’t to be.

And really, unsurprisingly, despite Mia’s tears of mourning when her beloved boy was cast aside, Comfort and Tayne said goodbye last night, and we’re down to our final 10.

The competition is going to really step up now!

Finals and breaking a world record right on stage? What more could we ask for in a finale?! First up – we have to find out who had the most votes last week in order to perform this week and it’s Stacy Dash! Am I the only one who thinks she has this thing in the bag?

This time the Judges pick what act they’ll perform, and Stacy’s challenge is the Trapeze Bungee once again, where she’s hoping to top her first performance. She missed the bar a couple times at the beginning, and it just doesn’t have the fluidity the first one had until about half way through then she rocks it out – but she misses the last catch too. Lots of difficulty there, but a rough performance. Judges give her 8s across the board because she stuck with it and finished.
