moTHER!!
So – we survived christmas. *chuckles*
We had ours early, as the Asshole had to work, leaving on the 22nd and missing Christmas entirely. So while he was home we went out and cut down our Charlie Brown Tree, and then on Sunday, the 21st, we had a full christmas, complete with the kids waking us up at 7 and us telling them to go away. Then again at 8, greeting us with the scent of freshly brewed coffee and promises to be good all day if they could just open their presents. Heh. Like we believed that.
But we got up, sleepy-eyed (I was up till 4am wrapping, of course) and settled down on the couch to open gifts. Everything was properly ooh’d and aah’d over and I managed to make my kids very happy by assuring that they each at least got the one thing they’d asked for most. The Boy got his gamboy advance sp and one game. The girl got the Airbrush Tattoo set. The pup got her McFlurry maker AND her dora doll. (the dora was a FIND! they actually had marked that puppy half price. So she got both her big wants.) And all three got various other things too.
Asshole got his drum (the mini version – can’t afford the bigger one), and he and the boy have bamboo practice swords on the way. (they were supposed to be here in time, still haven’t seen them. sigh.)
And I? got a MP3 player! this thing is teeny! smaller then a pager with an internal memory big enough to hold 22 songs, that I can switch around at my leisure and the ability to get memory cards to expand that as much as I want. Tres cool! Pluse some bath and beauty stuff and a cool electric lamp from the kiddos. Unfortunately, the girl knocked it over accidently a couple days ago and broke it – on payday, I’m gonna go replace it so I still have it. poor girl was in tears… she felt so bad. But I consoled her and promised that she could go get me a new one and no one but us would be the wiser. *grin*
(my cable just went out. I don’t know why I’m writing this here in this window.. I can’t save the bloody thing. *L*)
That afternoon we went down to Grammas and had dinner (mmmmmmm ham!) and opened gifts there where everything of course was a huge hit. And I got more cd’s and cases and 25 bucks to spend on something else computer related. We watched Freaky Friday (and giggled. it’s such a cute movie! really well done remake) and then headed home again.
Asshole flew out at 5am the next morning and things returned somewhat to normal. Except for the kids getting that wickedass flu that’s been going around. The boy was just coughing, the girls both did that plus sported fevers in the 102-103 range. So we spent days on motrin, and then came the REAL christmas.
We tracked Santa – the kids had been notified that they might be lucky enough to get another visit, but Santa had already been to our house once, so let’s not expect anything. But just in case, they put out cookies and milk and we tracked Santa’s progress online through the Norad site. When he got close, the kids DOVE into bed, and soon were snoring soundly (thanks to the doses of advil and tylenol that were still controlling the fevers. heh)
They woke up the next morning to two more gifts and stockings for each of them. Happy campers. We watched the disney parade on tv, and pretty much just lazed the day away.
The next day, we stopped byAuntie Jen’s and made sure they got their gifts, and last but not least, tonight Aunt D. and Aunt R came by with the last little bits. Christmas is officially OVER.
Whew. I swear if I hear Rebecca from Cheers sing “Santa baby” one more time I’m gonna put a foot through my tv. heh.

Man. I so cannot believe it’s like. almost 2004. It’s fucking unreal. I know I said that last year, that I couldn’t believe it went so fast, but holy shit, I swear this year FLEW by… The kids have each grown a food and a half taller, I’ve grown that wider, and it’s just amazing really that so much, yet so little has happened this past year. It was pretty much a ssdd year for me, and usually those drag. Not this year! it FLEW by.
No new years resolutions for me. There’s some things I want to accomplish, but well, I’m just going to have to do them, without resolutions that give me a reason to break them because ‘everyone does’ yannow? Other then that, I’ll still be here taking it one day at a time.

The Pup has taken to calling me “MoTHER!” which is the reason for this post. She’s doing that a little earlier then most kids, and the first couple times it was cute.*L* now I want to smack her. heh.
Today though, she took it one step farther. It was her day to go shopping with gramma and papa. Today’s bounty included a new play cell phone. She told me all about it (including assuring me that it was a toy for some reason) and then she asked if she could watch a movie. I told her I was watching a movie and she could after mine. She harumphed at me grabbed her phone and dialed some numbers walked away and had a conversation and came back.
“MoTHER!”
Yes?
“You have to do what your Mother says to do!”
Well, when she’s looking. I mean. Yeah?
“Well! SHE says to let me watch MY movies!”
Blink.
“And you HAVE to do what your MOther Says to do!”
Now. I could have said no and told her to suck it up and wait her turn… but then it hit me. The little shit was setting me up for oh so much MORE then just todays movie….. had I not let her watch the bloody thing, she would have in a month or two told me “Well YOU don’t do what YOUR MOTHER says!” or something.
Round 1? Pup.
Dammit all.
Called gramma too. Her response? “Well, let that baby watch her movie!”
mine? “she is watching her motherfucking movie.”
heh.
Don’tcha just love kids? *Smirk* Want mine? *L*
(dammit – cable is still out. heh. gonna have to save to word.)
(finally!)
