Landscaping, Alaska Style

Tonight we had the last concert of the year – and I was pulling double duty with the camera and the video as this time The Girl was singing too in the 6th Grade Choir! Not only that – but she scored one of the 3 coveted solos! The picture sucks (oh but the video is FABULOUS) but there’s a very blurry picture of mah baybee singing her heart out! YAY! She did beautifully, even being as nervous as she was!

The boy’s choir sang as well, and there several solo’s from the 7th and 8th grade. There is a LOT of talent in the local middle school, and it’s always great to see them have fun on stage and see how far they’ve come in the school year. I’m very proud of all of them – but my two especially! (of course *grins*)

Earlier today, I went to hang with dad a while and do some paperwork and such, and saw something that… man. you’d think we were too far north for rednecks! Hillbilly mom would be SO PROUD of the menfolk! You see, every year the trees at the corner of the parkinglot make it dangerous for walkers and such going by, as it’s impossible to see them as you exit toward the highway. So Papa Moosie decided to clear it, and asked for R to help. So what would YOU use to clear some trees? A backhoe? A CHAINSAW, perhaps?

Oh no.

We use a rope.
and a van.

Oh – you think I’m kidding do you? The proof is in the… erm… branches?

Oh yes. Sometimes, I am SO PROUD of my Hillbilly Roots!
