Myriad Mishmash in no particular order:
Ok ok ok, I’ll update! SHEESH! Sarah can be so demanding – it’s a good thing she’s CUTE! (raaaaaaawr!)

It’s that time again! The Little League Season is getting underway. We still don’t know who the pup’s coach is, but the Girl had her first FastPitch Softball practice yesterday. She’s thrilled that she made the team with her favorite coach, even though today, after last nights practice, she’s QUITE sore and stiff. Opening ceremonies are on the 20th – which I’ll miss being in Anchorage and all – but for the next 6 weeks or so I’ll be even MORE busy then before.

Today I was doing some random blogsurfing, and came upon the following quote:
My sister is really active in her church. She works at the food pantry when they give food to
lazypoor people, teaches a kids Sunday School class, etc.
Now, I’m not gonna link where I found it, but it disturbs me. Sure, I’m not so stupid as to not realize that some people do take advantage of free food from food pantries and the like, but as someone who has used them when I needed to to supplement a sudden loss of income, or simply not enough income where that little extra was needed and greatly appreciated, I find the assumption that everyone who uses this is lazy greatly irritating. It must be nice to sit upon your high horse, and proclaim those of us who have needed a helping hand here and there lazy.
A real life scenerio – MY life, for you: I have never taken help when I didn’t need it. My husband worked his ass off to provide for us, and we’ve had it easier then a lot of folks. After his death, I was taken care of by some wonderful people who’s help gave me the ability to stay at home and be with my children as we started to pick up the pieces after such a devastating and unexpected loss. Now, as I take advantage of the survivors benefits that he worked hard to provide us with, I educate myself and work my ass off in not one, but TWO businesses, in order to keep us relatively comfortable. I have it better then some, worse then some. When people realize how little Me and my kids actually live on, they are stunned. It takes work, it takes tenacity.
Another scenerio for you way up there on your high horse: My sister’s husband has Cancer, and cannot work now. Do you look down upon them too for taking advantage of helping hands? Are they lazy for not going to work while he has chemo? Is my sister lazy for taking care of 4 kids and her husband through this?
I would NEVER proclaim those who need a helping hand up unilaterially Lazy, and to those who do? You can kiss my great white ass. There is a great need in our country, that cannot be solved by someone snubbing their nose from their comfort zone with assumptions and ridicule. Break out, and look around you. SEE what is really there. And offer a hand up to someone who needs it instead of being a judgemental bitch.

IN more PLEASANT news – the pup had her spring program today! They’ve been learning about birds, and the pup was QUITE happy to tell me all about her chosen bird, the penguin. They sang, played instruments, and even did the Chicken Dance – even more appropriate as the eggs they had in their room hatched this morning. Nothing is more satisfying then having the pup do a FLYING TACKLE in the hallway at me “you MADE it!” – like I was gonna miss it? Please. Thats why I work for myself, and why I choose my schedule carefully – so I don’t miss moment’s like those. Her goofy grin always makes it worth it!

Annnnnnnnnd last but not least! How cute are my neice and nephew? Doesn’t it just completely MELT YOU to look up in a window, and see THIS?
Two shiny happy faces thrilled to be waving at Auntie. All together now… awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!

And in case you think I’m kidding about working hard? Hahahah! I had 5 visitors at the op meeting tuesday. I had paperwork with dad yesterday. I have a new associate meeting tomorrow. Training Saturday morning. Meeting saturday afternoon. Mother’s day Sunday. Meeting Monday at noon, band concert monday evening followed by another meeting monday night. Plus, most likely, another few tucked in here and there as timing allows. Not to mention the OTHER job of updating (now that the bastard finally paid) and creating websites. Lazy? I don’t think so. Am I making a million yet? Nope, but I’m working on it. Just because I have the choice of not working till noon, doesn’t mean I’m not still at it at midnight. So bite me, Ms. high n mighty. Bite. Me.

Grrrr…it really pisses me off when people think that way. I’m not poor, but I’m not rich either, and I would NEVER even think that. My parents didn’t make much, and we made it through, and I would never have called them lazy. Hell, most of the people in the neighborhood I live in, hell, even the building I live in are poor, but all of them work their asses off to support their families.
It always gets me how some people never seem to think outside their little bubble of reality. So, to whoever that is: Whatever, dude.
Although you may not have stacks of money laying around your abode, your family and your sister’s family are two of the richest I know. You both are building something here on Earth that most people will never get to experience, never get to understand, and never get the urge to strive toward; a higher spiritual plane. A way of living spectacularly.
