The Many Faces of 13.

Posted by Lessa on May 16, 2008 in family |

So, my lil blog crush, Adri, he’s in the process of writing a story that involves a 13 year old girl and all the Angst that comes with it. I offered to send my thirteen year old to him so he’d have first hand experience with the Angst, but he paled and declined the offer. (read: ran away screaming!) Dammit.

So anyway, after The Girl returned from school today, high on sugar and accomplishment (in the Standardized Testing for the state – she received her scores today: Reading 75% over ‘norm’, Writing 15% over ‘norm’ and Math? 100% over norm! Mah Blond Baby is SMART!) – and took pictures. Lots of pictures. Until she wouldn’t let me anymore. (That’d be 11 pictures till she ran and hid. Giving me an easy dozen would have been… well, easy!)

SO! I give you the Many Faces of Mairiah.
I know. You’re so excited. I can feel it!

it’s like that one commercial where the mom is talking about finding the elusive thing . . . there it is (daughter smiles) and then it’s gone . . .

I remember seeing a LOT of that tongue while in Ohio!!!

  • Lessa says:

I love that commercial. *L* And yeah, I see that tongue an awful lot too – even from the stage at a band concert. I just proudly go “yeah, that one’s MINE.” because at least mine wasn’t the one scratching his balls, or dancing with the skirt tucked in her waistband in the back.

    …this time, anyway hahahah.

  • Adri says:

    Yyyyyep. Never. Ever. Having. Kids.

  • Lessa says:

    hahahahaha. Chicken. *g*

  • Adri says:

Squawk squawk, baby. Bok-bok-bok and cock-a-doodle-do. I’ve raised a kid before. Never doing it again.

  • Lessa says:

*L* I can respect that. It’s not an easy job – and is all to often thankless. But sometimes, sometimes you get lucky -as I did – with three great kids. They make me laugh daily, and that’s worth the times they make me cry.

    Mostly. *g*

  • Adri says:

It’s still just hard for me to believe that you have kids that age. I’ve seen your pics. You look like their younger sister, not their mom. I probably look older than you, and I’m such a pixieface that I’ve been stopped by truant officers and no one will believe I’m almost 30.

  • Lessa says:

*blush* (Now we all know why he’s my favorite, right? *g*)

I can’t believe i have kids that old either. Sigh. Seriously, how does this shit happen? Just yesterday _I_ was in highschool… when yesterday was 20 years ago, of course.
