Speaking of new looks…

Posted by Lessa on April 26, 2008 in this-n-that |

The girl and her friends are putting together a movie for a school project. In doing so, they decided they needed the Pup to help and play a part – which made her beyond happy, as you KNOW she’s the star of LIFE, and all parts there-of! They worked very hard on their costumes, and even made one for the pup. Who was BESIDE HERSELF with joy at the finished project. Observe:

She loved it so much that she merely took the belt off, before collapsing into sleep on the couch on top of the other costumes and such. The effect made her look vaguely homeless and street-urchin-esque:

Which means, of course, I couldn’t help but mess with one of the pictures using a new set of actions I’d picked up from Pioneer Woman. Some of the actions don’t completely work on my photoshop, but with my own tweeking here and there, it turned out pretty darn awesome, I think. Voila:

So the question is – what do YOU think? She’s gorgeous, no?

…I got bored.

And boredom, plus a box of bleach blond hair color, plus boredom and a ‘what the hell’ attitude, plus the question of “Wonder what would happen if I put this on my hair that I’ve colored variations of dark red for, oh, 3 years? Oh and let’s leave a layer of the dark stuff underneath too…” and you get…

The pup…

Posted by Lessa on April 18, 2008 in this-n-that |

There’s a little boy who moved in on our road last summer. His name is J, and he lives there with his mom and baby sister. He’s been at his Dad’s house the past few times the Pup has gone down there to play.

Just a few minutes ago, she came running in, breathless:

Pup: J’S HOME! I saw them! They are finally back from from his dad’s house!
Me: Yay!
Pup: OMG I HAVE TO BRUSH MY HAIR!!!
Me: you were just out there at papas! You didn’t brush your hair to visit him!
Pup: PAPA DOESN’T CARE! Gimme the brush!

The Boy: I think someone has a crush.
Pup: He’s younger then me! I can’t have a crush!
Me: How much younger?
Pup: He’s like. SEVEN. (for the record for those who have forgotten, the pup is 8.)
Me: Your daddy was two years younger then me…
Pup: I do NOT have no CRUSH….bye! I’m going to J’s!

….and so it begins.

Sigh.

Haha.

This is pretty much right on, hm?

You are late-sleepy relaxation, the half-awake moment when you realize it’s morning, but you don’t have to get up, because there’s no place you have to be. You are that cozy spot under the covers where everything feels temporarily perfect, even if you know you’ll eventually have to wiggle out and start the day. Maybe you’re the artistic type, who doesn’t function well on a normal schedule. Sleep’s important to you, and you like the freedom of sleeping as late as you want (especially since that is closely related to the freedom to stay up as late as you want). You like to roll out of bed, put on some comfy clothes, and get a laid back start to the day. If not everything on your list gets accomplished, no worries. Your only priority is having no priorities ? you just want to take things at a slow, mellow pace.

Conversation with the Ladybug and Pup…

Posted by Lessa on March 19, 2008 in this-n-that |

Ladybug: I’m the a Rabbit!
Pup: No, I Am the year of the Rabbit!
Me: hang on *Consults google* Pup is right, she’s a rabbit, eeeeew, Ladybug, you’re a SNAKE!
Ladybug: YAY!

Further discussion of the time of birth, and then the day.

Ladybug: do ya know what day I was born?
Me: Yes – THE WRONG DAY!
Ladybug: *giggling*
Me: What day was you supposed to be born on?!
Ladybug: the 17th!
Me: And what day did you appear?
Ladybug: THE 18TH!
Me: Your SO GROUNDED!
Ladybug: Wanna know why?
Me: Why you were born a day late? Sure!
Ladybug: It’s because I’m a SNAKE!
Me: Exactly.

For those not in the know – my birthday was the 17th, and she was supposed to be born on my birthday, but held off till the day after, which is the same thing I did to my Gramma Abbot. It’s now a family tradition, I suppose. Hahah! Oh, and the above exchange is even funnier because they all know of my horrific phobia of reptiles. So. Yeah. The brat is SO GROUNDED! She thinks she’ll be saved by being cute. HA!

Yeah, so she’s right. Whatever. Some people’s kids….
