Now THATS the way to do it…

So. Papa, he missed his breakfast with the babies, so this morning he decided to give it a try, with all three of them down early before the older two went to school. The Boy was grumpy assed (…though he didn’t get up any earlier then usual.. No matter how he stomped and grumbled that life! it isn’t FAIR!) The Girl was her normal self – not *too* grumpy, happy to get breakfast, and the pup….

Well, the pup is as she is EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY. Talking. Loudly. Constantly. And making sure she is the center of attention. Heh.

Drawback of the new plan is that the pup is dropped back off here at the house, to talk MY ear off for over an hour before her bus arrives. Oy, my aching ears! On the plus side? She brought me a still warm pancake and syrup for my own breakfast. NOW we’re talkin! She was quite pleased to tell me they ate all the sausage though. *chuckles*

So the older two are off to school, and the Pup is chasing kittens, dancing and singing, (and now, watching a cartoon, because O.M.G. my poor EARS!) and me? I’m just hanging on until it’s time to take her to the bus, then come home and get warm and take a nap. Because I still get my Naps you know. Lessa without her nap is as cranky as the boy when he’s told he gets to spend the morning with his sister. hahahah!

One of the ‘goals’ things that we’re supposed to do every week with my other other job, is to get up at the same time every day. People always give me shit about when I get up like it’s some kind of unwritten law that people must get up before the sun, and sleep when it goes down. Um – that went out with lil bessie sue back on the farm, ma!

Just because I get up at a DIFFERENT time then you, and go to sleep at a DIFFERENT time then you – does not make me lazy! Just sayin. It actually makes me spoiled, and lucky, and I LIKE it that way. *Grin* I get up the same time every (week)day – 6am, and noon. But when all ya’ll are sleepin at 10pm because you can’t keep your eyes open, I’m still working until 1 or 2 am. That’s just how I’m wired, and I’ve adapted, and LIKE it that way. So. Getting up the same time every day? Check. Don’t like what time it is? :p~ Don’t hate the playah, hate the game!

Ain’t being a grown-up grand?

Sunrise, sunset

Posted by Lessa on November 6, 2006 in NaBloPoMo 2006 |

So, one of the nice things (…the nice thing?) about living in such a blasted cold climate, is that we are often treated to some of the prettiest sunsets ever. Random shots taken over the shoulder while driving (Papa LOVES when Nana and I do that!) and clicked on the fly are often some of the most striking pictures. Case in point:

AK sunsets

Added benefit – they TOTALLY show off how dirty your windows are! Score!

Thing is – with a shot like this out the drivers side window, you can stretch your arm, click again, and see this:

fullmoon

Awesome. I may be cold? But I live in the middle of THE PRETTIEST PLACE ON EARTH.

But dammit. It’s cold. And I papa went and got hisself a job. Which means I am feeding my own kids breakfast instead of shipping them down to Papa’s, (Yes, I can hear the sympathy dripping off you from here. snerk) AND I have to take them to school. In the cold. Outside. Where other people are.

Yes. I’m usually totally spoiled. Is this any reason to mock me? (Shhh, Nana.)

(Think he’d notice if I made them walk to school? They walk HOME, right?)
(Yeah. He’d notice. because my kids are little NARKS.)
(Harumph.)

(Whoo! day 6! only 24 more to go….)

Blog lines

Posted by Lessa on November 5, 2006 in NaBloPoMo 2006 |

Ok, so I know I am HOPELESSLY behind the times, but Schnozz said I had to check it out and well, what Schnozz says, goes right? So I went over, realized I had actually signed up for an account before, and poked around.

Oh. My. God.

It TELLS me when people update! I can conceivably read your post within MINUTES after you post it! I was one of those people who actually CLICKED THE LINK to every single person to see if they updated (this is why, for the curious, they were divided into obsessively stalking and stalking – the first were clicked several times a day, the others once every couple days. so now ya know.). I didn’t mind that really because I love seeing the designs and such. This is why I change mine so often. *L*

Anyway! I discovered that you can click out easily from bloglines and still see the pretty designs and did I mention it TELLS ME WHEN YOU UPDATE? omg.

So – two things: what in the world is the difference between atom/rss/rss2? is there a difference? if there is no difference why the hell are there different ones? if there is a difference, is one better then the other and should i quit randomly choosing when a site has all three? huh? inquiring minds want to know!

And! The other thing? i downloaded the little windows notifier updater thingy right? Cuz I’d just updated my firefox to v. 2 and it wouldn’t work with the firefox mozilla thingy – but whenever I click it, it opens MIE and I hate IE with the force of a thousand suns, so does anyone know if that can be adjusted somehow to open in firefox which is my default browser? (I think? *L*) Never mind! Fixed it!

Yeah. So. In conclusion.

Bloglines? AWESOME.
RSS/Atom? Confusing.
All this free time? Wasted elsewhere.

hahahaha! (but on the plus side? this means i don’t have to pick and choose so much what blogs i put on my lines cuz I am not spending an hour clicking every day! AHH! THE POWER!)

My turn, internets!

Posted by Lessa on November 4, 2006 in letters, NaBloPoMo 2006, SillyKittySaturday |

Dear Internets,

annabelle This is Annabelle. I wants you to know that I ain’t stupid, no matter what Ace said! In fact, he’s just a big stupidhead. While he’s all sucking up to mom, I’m busy protecting the whole house from the invasion of the rattle-y beads! They shimmy and shake and make noise and I will go to any lengths to assure moms and the kids are safe! And? i look DAMN FINE doing it too! He might be cute, but I’m GORGEOUS!

You think I’m kidding bouts the whole suckin up thing? HAH! Every time I turn around, he’s curled up next to mom somehow. He claims the soft spot behind her knees, and leaves me with her ankles! And he’s all about curlin up around her neck and stuff under her ponytail when she’s at her desk. And even when I get a second to cuddle up with mom, his big ole fat butt comes clampering on up to horn in on my time. He’s a big ole fat meany butt, that’s what he is!

The Pup: Mama? Remember that boy I told ya was kinda cute?
Me: *wary* Yeah….
The Pup: well. *blush* today? we was partners for folk dancing in PE. Don’t Tell TheBoy!
Me: *trying not to laugh* Alright.
The Pup: Maybe I should ask his address and phone number soon, you think? And then we can like, play or something.
Me: uh…. How bout you just be friends for now, and dance in PE.
The Pup: Ok. For now.

DOOMED. DOOMED I SAY.
