So, the first phone call was made, and he was told to call back after his hair appointment – a quick buzz at Miss A’s, and he made the second call. They talked for a few moments, alas… she had been told by mum and dad she couldn’t do anything today, so no movie. She was supposed to call back later tonight, but she never did.
Rumor has it this girl has a boyfriend, so likely it was a friends/group deal – but still, as The boy keeps telling me? “Dude, who CARES? I got DIGITS!” and he’s still smiling, and well I think it’s just flat out cool he was INVITED and INCLUDED in something for a change! Methinks it is certainly a preview of what is to come, that I’m completely unready for, and so on and so forth.
So he’s not upset about it, and will talk to her again on Monday and see what happens from there. And who knows – with the jealousy sparked by CH and J – could be the boy’ll get lucky there sooner then later.
(NOT LIKE THAT LADYBUG! Ya perv. [I’d KILL him. heh.])

As if THAT weren’t enough… I FINALLY got a new shower curtain rod and shower curtain and rings TOO! If that doesn’t make your no-no places tingle, well then, you are simply lacking the most basic of feminine genes! It’s a CURTAIN that hides my dirty BATHTUB! On a ROD instead of a redneck-ish ROPE! And did I mention the VACUUM that has SUCTION! That’s BAGLESS! Oh, the THRILL!
And if that wasn’t enough? Dude. It was ON FREAKIN SALE!!!!! And it has a TURBO TOOL!

This is just a few miles from my house. I went hoping to get the setting sun shining on the Kenai River ice, but couldn’t get a good angle without actually parking on the side of the bridge and risking idiots hitting me or falling over the edge or something. heh. So – I used the road that goes right up to the bridge itself instead – where you can watch the ice float across the surface, as well as the pileups of ice and snow left on shore from high tides. Turned out pretty nice, even if it wasn’t my original intent. In the summer, you can see many hopeful people boating and fishing along the banks in hopes of nailing that ever elusive Kenai River King Salmon. *g*

Out searching for my next PhotoHunt submission around sunset tonight. Even as cold as I am for several months a year? I really do live in the prettiest place EVER.
PS: I actually parked on the side of the road near the bridge, and risked getting HIT by CRAZY PEOPLE in CARS zooming by in the FREEZING COLD, just to get this shot! I’m so brave! All for you, my faithful [3] readers, all for you!

I’m EXTREMELY proud of my kids and how well they did! They had some stiff competition and by sticking in there they ended up pretty darn high in the standings. Myself, I wanted to beat Brookston, but well, I’ll have to settle for NEARLY succeeding in that. *L* There is certianly no shame in finishing Third, however, and I’m quite proud. The kids a bit disappointed not to have beat me, but that just made the Girl all the more determined to beat me this time! The boy has decided that he doesn’t want to participate again, but both girls are ready and rarin to go and their first weeks pictures are both EXTREMELY cute. Also, Nana Moosie is joining in as well which adds even more family competitive fun!
So! Batten down the Hatches – the AK Camera Crew is ready to take the hunt by storm!
AM update…
So – last night, when we went to pick up the Boy’s friend S (who happens to be the younger brother of the girl the Boy has loved since birth) to spend the night, we find not only TheGirlLovedSinceBirth(Ch), but also J, who The Boy has begun to like more and more over the past year ago. So anyway – while we’re waiting for S to grab his stuff, his mom mentions she’ll not be able to pick him up till after too, and I say that’s cool, he can hang with me during the Boy’s haircut, and whatever is decided after the phone call since he was invited to the movies. The following conversation ensued:
S: by a GIRL?
The boy: Yeah (Grin)
CH and J together: WHO?
The Boy: A.
CH and J: A?! AN?!? (Shocked looks)
The Boy: (A little smugly.) Yes.
CH and J: (exchange looks, blink, look a little… disappointed..) …..oh. cool.
The Boy: (Just….grins.)
Me and S’mom: (Rolls of eyes and sighs and bemoans the fact our kids are growing up)
Afterwards I called my sister to chuckle at the girls. Seems AN is a pretty popular girl with the other two, and perhaps the Boy isn’t quite as invisible to CH and J as he thought. Man. I’m so not ready for all this. *LOL* But at least it’s been a huge boost for the boy’s confidence! at 10:30 this morning, he called AN, and she said to call back after his hair appointment, and they’d solidify the plans for later this afternoon. Which makes the boy happy, because his hair will be looking GOOD thanks to Miss A.
