There she is – the 6 year old who will grow up and take my job from me. Fortunately I’ll be ready for Management by then, right? You can see the finished picture here.

The Kidnapping!

LOOKIT THOSE EYES! Now dont even try to tell me that if you were asked to pick up such a cute little thing from pre-school, and was told that “She was SO excited to hear you were coming to pick her up! she told EVERYONE on the way out that you were her best friend!” that you wouldn’t then scoop up said cuteness, buckle her into your car, and kidnap her!

You know you would!

So I did. We called momma, said we’d be home in a while, that she was being kidnapped, and then off we went. I offered her ice cream, but no – she wanted to go to McDonalds instead for “chickynuggies”.

Knowing I had the camera with me, she wanted to take pictures too. Taking pictures with Ladybug involves her pointing out things, and my actually taking the picture. *chuckles* Click through to flickr to see the others.

I know. I’m the worlds biggest softy. *L* But them eyes! WHO could resist? Surely not me!

And! in other news!

Posted by Lessa on November 1, 2005 in family |

The Girl came home the other day, all worried. They were moving up in the band world, and were testing for “chairs” just like big bands do. And in order to get one, she needed to be able to do a full scale, and she was worried because she had not yet learned, let alone mastered, the top two notes.

So! She practiced, and practiced, and got one of them. That top one though, presented MANY a problem. She was worried that she would not get any chair at all. I kissed her and wished her luck, and sent her off to school, and band practice.

She came home BEAMING.
fuckin GLOWING even.

She did not get 1st chair, but there was only ONE girl who could play the whole scale. And only ONE girl could play that whole scale -1, and that, boys and girls, was MY Girl! She achieved SECOND CHAIR which was so much more then she hoped for! And the very next day? Today? She learned to hit that last note.

Whooohooo! My girl ROCKS I tell yeh! Rocks!
Now, where’s my award for LISTENING to all these practice sessions? huh huh huh?
