There.

There we go. I’m happy with it for now. *chuckles* So many people have been redesigning lately, I just felt the need and had the picture just sitting around on my hard drive and well. Voila.

I’m ahead on word count for Nano – don’t have to write until like – Next Saturday. Course, likely my sister would kill me should I dare attempt to do something like that to her. Demanding wench. Asshole asked me today how close to the end of it I was. I said “Dunno. I’ll know when I get there” and his reply? “Damn writers.”

Hehehehehe

I found that utterly amusing.

And ps – Congrats to Mom! She’s got another artical that will be printed in Alaska Women Speak magazine! Yay!

Heh. Just playing.

OK – All done.

Posted by Lessa on November 7, 2004 in this-n-that |

Ok – I’m done with voicing my opinion on politics – never liked it anyway, and well, I had my say so I’m just going to be done. I’m done being called an ignorant cunt by those supposedly on the same side I am – such intelligence THEY have spouted. *smirk*. So. Back to more important things then them petty little buttcheese munching assholes…

The girl is playing basketball again, and loving it. She’s on an all girls team and so far have played other all girls teams. It’s fun to watch these little pre-teens trying to get everything in working order in the same direction and STILL pose for the camera with a winning smile everytime it’s lifted in front of a mom or gramma!

(click to supersize)

And of course, those watching in the stands have to have a bit of fun too, and the standard enjoyment usually circles around the pup and papa’s hat.

Even the boy will stop his pre-teen sulking for a few minutes to pose in the hat – which he looks damn good in, doesn’t he?

And then, of course, it was back to watching the game…

Then there’s the “dress the diva” that occurred this morning before I woke up…

Heh – bet that wasn’t the diva you thought it’d be, hm? *grins* And with that – I’m off to write more for my NanoNovel. 12,125/50,000 and counting.

Take a lesson from Alaska, people.

Posted by Lessa on November 4, 2004 in this-n-that |

Ok -I lied. One more political post.

I’ve been alternately amused and disgusted by some of the things I’ve seen posted since the declaration of Bush as the presidential winner. There have been threats to pack up kids and move (go ahead, ya cowards. good riddance.) there have been panic attacks and whimperings and even those who have threatened suicide rather then face the next four years.

There has even been one who suggested that all the electorial woes could be solved by reinstating the Roman tradition of feeding all Christians to lions. And others who actually pointed to the post – finding it amusingly viable and pointing out “That?s what happens when you give rednecks, trailer trash, and fascist-Christians the right to vote?”

I am a Christian. I don’t normally shove it down peoples throats because I hate it when it’s done to me and I prefer my own interpretation of my faith not a carbon copy of everyone elses. But there you go. I am also a bisexual woman. I also support the opening of ANWR, and I also on top of all of that – voted against Bush. To be lumped in and fed to the lions with everyone else shows how very short sighted you people are.

Take note.
The votes have been counted.
Everyone voted the way they did for a reason.
If they did not vote your way – this does not make them imbeciles and uneducated. It makes them Free. and American. and capable of making their own decisions.

Just.
Like.
You.

Hi kettle, i’m pot, and we’re both fucking black.

So take a lesson from the final concession speach by our former Alaskan governer, and loser in a very very ugly senate race.

“Surrounded by his family, Knowles told his campaign that his bid for U.S. Senate had come to an end. He said he had placed a call to Murkowski conceding the race for U.S. Senate. As he put it, it was in the spirit of putting Alaskans first.
?We agreed that it?s is in the best interest of Alaska that we move forward and we had a good conversation,? Knowles said.”

IN the spirt of putting America First – it’s time to quit bitching, realize that your whining will not change the outcome of this election, and find a way to work TOGETHER, to realize that change is an ever present thing, ever growing when it is fed by people who believe. Be sure of your beliefs, make your voice known, get active and get involved. If you want your voice heard, make it heard.

But remember that some people will still disagree with you. This does not make them stupid “trailer living white trash christians” as some have said. This makes them free to make their own decisions – just as you are.

Its 4 years. Not 40. Regroup, redefine your objectives, make a better bid next time around. Or make good on your cowardly threats and get the fuck out.

Oh yeah – and bring on your fucking lions. I still got my goddamn guns.

[I chose not to link to specific blog posts referenced in this commentary for a reason. Rest assured they are out there, and you can find them yourself easily enough. Its called research. If more people did that then believing ANY public politician, we’d have a lot less sheep, and a good many more idealists. Idealism isn’t bad – it’s the condemnation of others that makes my skin crawl. Land of the free – as long as I believe as you do. That shit ain’t right. It ain’t right at all.]
