So – the phone rings, and it’s my sister in law! I love my sister in law! She’s wonderful and fun and stuff.
And she tells me that she has some news, but is kinda worried about how to break it to the Asshole, but she’s happy and all, and well, she’s pregnant.
Me? Shift into INSTANT AUNTIE MODE! whoo! I’m so happy for her! I’m telling her that Asshole will take it fine, getting some details, making sure she’s feeling allright and doesn’t need anything, and she says..
“My phones dying, so I just wanna say APRIL FOOLS!”
At which time I totally didn’t hear her at first because like, I’m calculating her due date in my head and wondering if I’ll be able to fly down there for the birth and to help and stuff, and then she said it again, and I was all YOU ASSHOLE!
I was determined that THIS year? I not fall for ANYTHING. And so far it was working really well. Until that. Play on my love of being an auntie and my love for my SIL and then YANK that blanket of happy bunnies out from under me…

But man, when she does decide to have a kid? I’ma be all hard ass. “no! are you nuts? you can’t do this!’ and she said I’ll only know it’s real when she starts insisting that We move down there because there’s no way she could do it without me. *L*
Man. I love my sister in law. Even if she IS an asshole. Now how can I turn this around and get the Asshole I married to freak too………

Heard from the agency that requested the first 100 pages today, and have another lovely email rejection to add to the slow (hopefully! *L*) growing pile.
