Nashville Star – final performances!
That’s right -it’s almost that time, next week is the Nashville Star finale! So who are the final three? We have to wait a while to see, as each of the final four get to show us what happened on a visit home, sing a song, then only the final three will sing a second song selection.
Hope ya’ll voted the right way! Cuz I know I did, right? Right.
After everyone gets to sing once and show off the visit home – and how many of you awww’d when Melissa’s first stop was home with her boys and changing diapers? – we get to discover who the final three are.
First named… Shawn. Hm. i’m perplexed, but then again, I was perplexed about her and Coffey last week, so between the two…. anyway, she sings better then ever, I think, and maybe it’s a good choice after all.
America is saved from my wrath when Melissa Lawson is named next and she blows the roof off with “Jesus take the wheel” and gets a standing ovation from John Rich. Richly deserved, too. Of anyone, I think she has the pipes to make it in this business, and deserves the chance.
Last up…. Gabe! Alrighty, I can get behind this trio, then. Coffey (and his massive pit stains… ew, man, just ew…) is going home tonight, and I think it’s really past time. He is a hell of a showman, but he’s just not got the pipes for the long haul, not yet.
So – what are you all waiting for? GO VOTE FOR MELISSA! I mean, go vote. Yes. (grin) Video’s to come as soon as they’re available!
Wildlife
Anna is back!
I know, you didn’t even know she was gone. But she was – she snuck out behind one of the kids, and was missing for three days. We did our best not to say anything, to look and just be hopeful that she’d find her way home, and three days later, the girls saw her behind the ManSpace outside and were able to get her back inside and home.
Whew.
And clearly, Ace is VERY happy to have his sister back safely, while she is planning her next escape, naturally. *g*
I’m glad she’s home though, as these guys have been hanging around too:
I almost ran over one of the babies the other night, but saw them just in time. I tried to get some night time pictures of them at the time, but it was just too dark and my camera good enough with the flash, and I didn’t want to get closer. They may look cute and fuzzy, but if you get between Mama and the Babies… well, it’s just not good at all. They’re big and strong and can trampled ya if your not careful.
But them babies – CUTE!
IN other news – Mom and I are having a contest over at Big Brother Craze starting tomorrow – head on over and check it out!
SYTYCD – final 8
So by now, you all likely know who has been eliminated, and what happened this week on SYTYCD – so I thought I’d post my favorite dance of the night. Katee and Twitch dancing a very different Mia Michaels contemporary routine! Hands down the BEST dance of the night.
I’m sad to see Will go, but there is no doubt at all that he’ll continue to work as a dancer. He’s beautiful, but I’m glad that Twitch is still with the competition! Comfort was the girl eliminated, and that was no real surprise either, though her performance on Wednesday night was pretty darn good. It just wasn’t quite good enough.
This is the best season of So You Think You Can Dance yet!
The Mole: Ep 7 Recap
Jon Kelly splits off the finalistsinto three smart players and two dumb ones – no hard feelings there, hm? Nicole and Craig volunteer to be the idiots, and Jon gives them all cluse to lead them around Mendoza, where they have to answer brainteasers that have numerical answers. If they all come back with the right answers, they get $30k added to the pot. The smart trio have three puzzles, while the dummys have five. It’s a great opportunity for sabotage!
They all race around Mendoza and solve the puzzles while time clicks away. Nicole and Craig get the job done pretty fast, while Paul gets the smart team lost. They all get back with minutes to spare, but the dumb team got one number wrong! They have 20 minutes to get the right answer and Nicole races off to take another look at the puzzle. Since everyone thinks she’s the mole, they ignore her and her eventual answer, figuring out the correct one on their own. They get it right with just 9 seconds to spare!
They fly to Buenos Aires for the next challenge, which is worth a possible $50k. They tell Jon who they trust the most, and they discover everyone’s family members are on the train. Pared with the person they trust, they have 3 minutes to answer 30 random questions about their loved one, and then their trusted partner has to answer 5 random questions correctly in order to have the doors of the train open and see their loved ones.
How awful would it be if someone didn’t get to see those doors open, with their famly RIGHT THERE? Fortunately no one had to feel awful about it, there are no crushed hopes and dreams, and everyone is reunited with their family. They all have a nice dinner with their families, before the execution quiz. In the end, Clay is eliminated and gets to ride home with his family – Nicole had considered throwing the quiz and giving up, but decided not too.
So, who do YOU think is the Mole? I’m leaning more and more toward Paul, myself. Nicole is too obvious!
Elle has been found!
That’s right – the next Broadway Star in the form of Elle Woods of Legally Blonde The Musical, has been found! The final was Monday, and we jump right back into the cut short elimination of last week. The judges decide that the only two that will move forward in the competition are Autumn and Bailey.
There’s quite a bit of tension in the air as they prepare for the final audition, but it’s trumped by excitement when they discover their next audition will be at The Palace Theater, where Legally blonde: The Musical is actually performed! They’re excitement is catching as they giggle and hold stands and take it al in.
For the audition, they’ll be performing “Omigod you guys” “positive” and “so much better” on the actual sets with the cast members and a full orchestra…. the next day. It’s time to prove who the real triple threat is – by singing, dancing and acting around the sets, moving parts and trap doors – in heels!
After a really long, and overwhelming audition, the girls are glad to relax, but take different tactics back at the loft. Bailey is confident and rests, while Autumn practices every moment she can.
The next morning, at the audition, the girls are surprised backstage by their parents, who have been invited to the final audition. Bailey kicks it off with omigod you guys, and the judges are amazed with how much she looks the part. Autumn is impressive as well, with her powerful voice. During the moves needed for Positive, Autumn flubs a line, and isn’t hitting the steps, while Bailey’s dancing is amazing, but her singing is off. In the final number, Autumn rocks the vocals, and bailey steps it up and proves she’s almost as strong vocally.
The judges hold nothing back, and point out they were impressed with boy, but Autumn started off on the wrong foot, while Bailey has a bad habit of “shmacting” and looking at the audience instead of her scene partners. Autumn has the best voice, but doens’t come across as a Sorority girl. Both girls have different strengths, and if they could just meld them together, it’d be perfect.
In the end, though, there can only be one! And that one is Bailey! She falls to the ground and cries, before dancing under the streamers and giving her encore – she’s Broadway bound!
