The day of his sleep test finally arrived and he was wired up so much he couldn’t fall asleep and ended up having to take a sleeping pill. The next morning, they declared that he did not have sleep Apnea.

Um. huh? He’s had that most of his life!

So now they say that he has a 25% chance of having narcalepsy, and he needs a second, more extensive test. They originally said it wouldn’t be until February before he could have said test, but they managed to wrangle him an opening for tonight. Christa was a love and drove him down here that day, and spent the weekend with us [giving me some MUCH NEEDED girl ventage time], and then drove him back up to anchorage today for the next test.

Heh. Having him home was…..er….. yeah. stressful. And then he fielded a collector call for a bill that he thought had been paid off months ago and well, it hasn’t been, so I was in beeg trouble. The talk we had a few hours after the blow up saw him coming up with a couple solutions to help us out of this current no paycheck hell – and hopefully those things will go through. We’re going to ask for a paycheck draw tomorrow, and we’re also dropping me off the insurance which will give us an additional $300 a month. [yes, that’s JUST for me.] We will have the option of putting me back on at a later date, as well, and his coverage is a perk of the job, so he’ll be fine.

So yeah. Hopefully things will work out. *shrugs* I dunno. I’m just taking it one day at a time, still. He’s got this longer test tonight, and if we’re lucky, they’ll give him a full release. Then we have to find out if they’ll make him continue on his week off, or let him come back to work right away – we’re praying for the second option, and that he’ll head off to work on Tuesday morning.

So – still stressed, and I currently hate being a girl. heh.

So help make me feel better? Consider it a birthday present for when i turn 35 next month…. *g*

Update: Monday Afternoon.

So. They cut the test short at about 2 pm, saying without a doubt that it’s narcolepsy. Um. Hm. When further questioned, he still has only ONE symptom for this disorder, and it is that he falls into REM sleep too fast. He has no other symptoms. He has NOTHING that matches any of the other symptoms at all. He has more that matches the apnea or simple insomnia then Narcolepsy, but they have saddled him with the diagnosis and are giving him medication. Expensive medication. _I_ have more symptoms for Narcolepsy for chrissakes!

When asked what the side effects of the Medication is, the doctor said “None at all, really.” When pressed, he again said “none.”

Does THIS sound like “none” to you?

The most common side effects of PROVIGIL are headache, nausea, nervousness, stuffy nose, diarrhea, back pain, anxiety, trouble sleeping, dizziness, and upset stomach. PROVIGIL may cause the following infrequent serious side effects. Call your doctor or get emergency help if you have any of these or any other serious side effects while taking PROVIGIL:

    * Chest pain
* Mental problems
* Allergic reactions such as a rash or hives, or other allergic reaction

Heh. Yeah. None at all really. Though it does say that the side effects are rare and generally mild in most people – I think we’ve already proved that physically the Asshole is NOT like most people, hm? *smirk*

So, they won’t give him a full release until Thursday – give the drug a couple of days to get into his system. At this point, we anticipate Work saying that since it’s already the majority of his week off, just to return for his normal shift on Monday. Oh. Goody. Still more time off without pay. He hasn’t been able to see about getting a draw from his pay, because the two people that would need to do it are not in the office today, so he is going to look into that tomorrow before coming home. I suggested talking to his doctor – his primary physician about releasing him to go to work tomorrow. He won’t do it, because he has already had it mentioned to him by the VP of the company that if put on meds, to wait a couple days to be sure they’re working before he comes back to work. *Sigh*

He will then be home until Saturday, at least. We have someone that likely can get him back to Anchorage on Saturday, and then he’d have to spend a couple of nights with Christa again before leaving monday morning for work at last. Of course, it’s likely he’ll pitch a bitch about that, even if it is a couple of nights, but christ – what does he want me to bloody do? There’s only so much I *can* do.

And he’s all up in my grill about the finances and shit again, already, still. I told him to just let me handle it right now because this is what I do. Beg borrow steal and get shit paid. But he’s all in my face and shit. I need him to go to work, let me take care of shit for a while, and just leave me the hell alone for like… a month. Then he can start his looking over my shoulder. But give me a month to get things situated [read: fixed. hee. god bless tax refunds.].

So yeah. Lessa’s stressed and irritable. So what else is new?

Update on the Asshole: When we last left the bitching, he was complaining about the sleep test and being in anchorage.
