Whew. So – was up writing until about 3am, in between cuddling the pup who said she had a toothache, and who also had a cold and pretty swollen tonsils AND a fever. Yikes. And the pup? Doesn’t really meantion that things hurt, unless they REALLY hurt. So.<\/p>\n
Bed and sleep by 4, up at 6 with the boy. Lessa pretty groggily getting kids off to school, though I kept the pup home, of course. Then came the fun of finding a dentist in town that 1,. takes Medicaid, and 2. was willing wo see her immediately while I wait for my new cards to arrive in the mail. I got lucky first try, a relatively new practice or new building or something, but not on ly would they hold off on the billing, but they had a cancelation and “Can you get here by 9am, Ms. Lessa?” <\/p>\n
I loooked at the clock and it was 8:45. um “Sure! Pup! get dressed!” which caused much giggling of the receptionist. So off we ran to the dentist to fill out paperwork, wait, wait some more, take two xrays because the pup moved during the first, and find out that yes – two cavities really close together, and an absessed tooth. Lovely. And a new molar coming in behind it (not under it, behind it) and so though normally he’d pull the tooth, he didn’t think that would be a good idea, as then the new molar could drift, and as the pup has a small mouth. (small but LOUD) he didn’t want to risk that.<\/p>\n
Heh. Though, my ever shy daughter, tells the lab tech who was like 5’11” and all of 125 pounds “Boy, you are a TALL SKINNY lady aren’t you?!?” Oh yes. the pup is such a wall flower. *L*<\/p>\n
So, done there, grab perscription, race over to doc c’s to check out them tonsils. No strep, not even an ear infection, but tonsils the size of texas. Probably all interconnected with that tooth, so a yes on the persecription, and off we went to the store for the pup’s Salad Bar and Corn Dog that I had promised her. Yes, given the choise between McDonalds and SaladBar – she goes for the green. Who IS this kid?!?<\/p>\n
Funny thing at Doc C’s, lady in the waiting room near us is about as shy as oh, the pup – casually mentions that She’s tehre to see why she’s gaining weight, yet is throwing up all the time. I took one look at her, and chuckled. She followed that with “Cripes, I have to pee again.” and I couldn’t hold back. “You’re pregnant.” She said “Well,no, I just had my period, though it was really light.” and I just grinned. smug.<\/p>\n
Pup and I were headed out, and lo and behold is the waiting room lady, who pointed at me. “YOU JINXED ME! how’d you KNOW?” ANd I just laughed. “…sorry?” Turns out they had been trying, but regular tests tend to show false negatives on her. She’s at least a good 2 almost 3 months along. SO I congradulated her, and told her I was glad I could be of service.<\/p>\n
Also in the waiting room, while I was people watching. A young boy – maybe 18, was there, and looking might… green. They call his name, and say something, and he califies “So I’m all right then? everythings fine?” and they went “Yup, all clean” and the look on his face – if it weren’t likely something serious – was almost comical. I swear it looked like for a moment he was gonna get done on his knees and praise jesus and start making all those promises we make when we’re faced with the possibility of bad results. Course, the only thing we can think of was it was obviously some sort of STD test – because the releif had that “ohmyGODthankGOODNESSmy DICK isn’t gonna ROT OFF” kinda look to it. Me and the soon to find out she’s pregnant lady waited till he was gone and then sniggered quietly behind our hands. *L*<\/p>\n
So, off to the store, home to douse up the pup with meds, here in my comfy chair, and a quicky nap before kids get home. And that, was my day so far. How’s yours?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
