The Girl came home the other day, all worried. They were moving up in the band world, and were testing for “chairs” just like big bands do. And in order to get one, she needed to be able to do a full scale, and she was worried because she had not yet learned, let alone mastered, the top two notes.<\/p>\n
So! She practiced, and practiced, and got one of them. That top one though, presented MANY a problem. She was worried that she would not get any chair at all. I kissed her and wished her luck, and sent her off to school, and band practice.<\/p>\n
She came home BEAMING.
\nfuckin GLOWING even. <\/p>\n
She did not get 1st chair, but there was only ONE girl who could play the whole scale. And only ONE girl could play that whole scale -1, and that, boys and girls, was MY Girl! She achieved SECOND CHAIR which was so much more then she hoped for! And the very next day? Today? She learned to hit that last note.<\/p>\n
Whooohooo! My girl ROCKS I tell yeh! Rocks!
