So today, after the boy got the last of his dentist appointments all done and finished with – INCLUDING fixing a “yellowspot” on a front tooth that he’s had since he was 4 or 5 years old which makes him VERY happy – I dropped him off at home, checked in with the girls to make sure they were ready for Awanas with miss forest, and then raced off again to grab the wee lil Ladybug and take her to Soccer practice.

Now, soccar for 5 year olds is simply hysterical. It’s a lot of “CHASE THE BALL!” and “no, really, on your feet! No! don’t touch it with your HANDS!” then anything really resembling the actual game. They’re so CUTE and so intense and so HYSTERICAL to watch, really.

And then there is the princess. Her Royal Highness, Princess Ladybug (who, as I was told, has a fairy godmother that is in charge of even ME so I could not EITHER ground her for putting her muddy boots on my seat so THERE auntie!) at one point had the ball, though she certainly didnt really care – or listen while the Coach gave instructions for something that was supposed to kinda resemble a ‘play’ of sorts. She started them off, very happily.

Looking mighty fine as she did so with her pink, purple, orange, and of course the PINK shinguards that you can’t quite see. But trust me – they’re sparkly and PINK and fabulous! and PINK! did I mention PINK? So she listened to her coach, who she greeted with a BIG hug, and happy told him that I was there and who I was and how happy she was that I brought her to practice (Yes, I melted. Yes, I knew she was priming me for something – read on…) Then, well. She decided that fighting for the ball was just TOO DEMEANING for a Princess of her stature to be bothered with. You think I’m kidding? HA!

See? PINK SHINGUARDS! And yes. She waited there patiently for them to go on and get the ball and do other things, only reappearing to get her new uniform shirt and her snack. Heh.

So! We headed to the store, her Royal Highness and I. Where we got a “car cart” and money from the ATM. And there it was. A softy felt bag of purple and green with a big butterfly of pink and purple and green on it. It was beautiful. It really was. And she looked at me. And I looked at it. And we had this conversation:

“Well, it really isn’t befitting a Princess of your Stature to be carrying around her soccar gear in a grocery bag, is it?”
“I want the purple one.”
“Hm. Well, maybe.”
“I’ll hold it!”
“I dunno…”
“My mommy told me no. And I love you best.”
“Ok, here ya go.”

Oh shut up – I know I am a total softy that spoils them every chance I get! So, she proudly carried her new bag and we got grocerys and we checked out and she got to the car and put all her soccar stuff into the bag, proudly. Except for the extra clothing. And then – SHE hatched a plan. “I think we should suprise momma! give her this and say we forgot my stuff and i’ll hide the new bag behind my back!”

It was then decided that since Auntie’s back is bigger then Her Royal Ladybug’s, that I should do the hiding. SHe walked up to her door with the BIGGEST impish grin on her face, and bounced inside to hand Auntie Ladybug her bag. Auntie Ladybug was on the phone and says “uh, this isn’t all her stuff.” so my eyes got big and I looked at HRH and she looked at me and her eyes got big and we went “OH NO! we musta FORGOT my STUFF!” and then she giggled, and motioned for me to give her the new bag. And her momma went “YOU DIDN’T! I told her NO!” and I just grinned and explained that for a Princess of Her Royal Ladybug’s standing, it is important to house her PINK shinguards in an equally GIRLY bag. So there.

:P~~~~~~

“‘What is an Auntie good at?’ Alex, I’ll take Auntie Logs for 1000.” Heh.
