We jump right to it this week – with Daniel and Shay confronting Tracy, while Coach Mo looks on, about how Tracy had broken her trust. Shay says that she’s been hurt her whole life, and feels betrayed. She tells us Tracy lied her way into a hole, and she’s not gonna help her find her way out of it. Tracy is pulling her wide-eyed ‘innocent’ look that makes me want to punch her in the throat. She keeps saying she assumed Shay would pull a number, and tells us she didn’t do anything. If you want something, fight for it. Shay tells us she’ll never trust them again.

The next morning, Bob and Jillian tell them they have to fight for themselves. It’s not “shay needs to be here” everyone needs too – it’s not for anyone to decide who deserves to be there more than anyone else. Tracy hasn’t been able to be in the gym yet, and they coaches say time to move on from last night and get to work. Shay says she has to prove that Sean and Antoine didn’t make their sacrifice for nothing. They’re all worried about this week. Amanda worries that she’s going to disappoint America, and it keeps her motivated. Jillian rides Julio hard, trying to find out why he’s there, why he’s 407 pounds, and he insists he’s happy with his life, while she says no, he can’t be. She’s not talking about his family, but about HIM, has he been excellent in anything? He says he’s been excellent at food. He admits his drug of choice is food, and he has to change it. Jillian says that she brings up the issues so that they can work it through, and be prepared when the real world comes to smack them in the face.

Tracy goes to see Dr. H, to see if she can be cleared to work out in the Gym. She still has major muscle injuries to contend with – high levels of CPK, which can leak to and damage her organs. She’s not allowed to walk or do anything at all. She breaks down, not sure how she can lose weight and stay there, and she isn’t finished, she can’t go home looking like this.

Coach Mo checks on her, and she lets him know what Dr H said – no workouts at all, and she has to do exactly as she’s told, in hopes of being able to stay and continue the journey with Coach Mo. Coach Mo worries that he has to carry the weight, but tells Tracy he is happy she’s getting better.

The teams meat up with Ali in the kitchen – which is padlocked. The kitchen is closed for the week! Abby is confused, and wonders if they’re gonna starve or something. For the next 7 days, they’ll have to order out for every single meal. Their security blanket is gone, they’ll have to learn how to request healthy meals. Tracy tells us this is the worst thing that can happen for her.

They also have a challenge. Three different dinners, and they have to choose which is the healthiest – the team that picks the healthiest meal gets a kitchen stocked with healthy groceries for a year. They come in one at a time, and get a minute to ask whatever questions they want too about the meals – chicken prepared three ways – before they make their decision.

No one chose B – which was obviously the most calories. The healthiest was A. Orange, Pink and Brown teams are eligible – so it comes down to 1 question. How many calories was in dinner A? 1/2 cup lowfat creamed spinach, 1/2 roasted chicken breast, 2.75 ox. sweet potatoes, 1/2 cup peach frozen yogurt and 2 cups unsweatened iced tea with lemon.

Brown says 547 | Pink says 345 | Orange says 475

Correct answer is 445! Amanda and Rebecca win the year of healthy groceries!

They start choosing some of their meals, and things are starting to weigh on them as they try to figure out what they want. Julio figures the more simple he goes, the better. They discover there’s some problems – Julio has melon, and he’s allergic to it, and there’s cheese where they asked for no cheese, and they discover a lot of problems ordering out.

Trainer Tip: Mashed potatoes without the guilt – substitute mashed cauliflower instead. Daily veges, good for you and similar in texture.

Bob and Jillian come to the kitchen and discover that they are eating out 3 times a day. They decide to take them to dinner to show them how to order and help them read the menus. They go to an authentic Mexican restaurant and show them how to modify their choices. They all get a fail from Jillian right off the bat because no one brought their calorie counting book. Dan jokes and says he brought two – Bob and Jillian. They start by refusing the chips and dip, and controlling their environment. Jillian goes after Rebecca right at the table, demanding that she figure out why she wants to lose the weight to give her a reason to not drink the margaritas, eat the chips. The choices aren’t easy, so they have to have a purpose behind them.

Jillian’s really pleased with Amanda’s choices, figuring she’s in at about 350 calories. Bob is loving Dina, and pleased with Coach Mo. All in all they think everyone did alright.

Trainer Tip: Visit a restaurant’s online menu to make your choices – order grilled steamed baked broiled or poached. Stay away from saulte. If they can’t answer questions about how something is prepared, stay away.

It’s challenge time! They’re playing for Immunity. Tracy knows it’ll piss everyone off if Purple wins the challenge. Dan says he refuses to go home AGAIN in week 4. The challenge involves laying on a platform and hanging on to the bars above their head. The platform will get steeper and steeper, until they’re vertical. Tracy is worried about holding her own weight, Abby and Tracy won’t be competing, so their teammates are carrying the hopes of green and purple. Liz is freaking out about the heights. And they begin, with the platform raising until they’re all hanging. Everyone’s having problems right away… Liz is down first, followed quickly by her teammate Danny – brown team is out.

Amanda falls next, and Rudy follows, then Rebecca and pink team is out. Allen makes it look easy. Dina falls next and Blue team is out, Shay is still hanging tough and is the last girl on the board – she’s pleased with that, as well she should be. Coach Mo falls just as Ali says it’s only been 5 minutes. Its Both members of Orange vs Black and Green. Shay is out next after 10 minutes, and Daniel yells “I’m proud of you!” Julio is next and it’s Daniel vs. Allen. Allen falls and Daniel wins Immunity for the Orange! He didn’t believe he’d done it for a bit, and hangs on just in case, until Ali confirms that he’d done it, he’s done!

Last chance workouts! And it’s BRUTAL. Bob is yelling at Julio who keeps stepping off the treadmill. Bob reminds them they haven’t seen what they’re eating, so they have to leave it all on the floor. Jillian goes after Rudy. She hammers and hammers and hammers – drop dead or make it happen.

Jillian: I don’t care. I’m not Bob. I’m not gonna be nice. Pick up the weights.

Bob goes after the pink team – reminding them they have to fight for every single pound. Liz falls down at one point, bob helps her up, and Julio says last chance workout is a mind game, all your thinking is don’t quit, don’t quit.

Tracy is sitting in the house, having to stay back, and worries about her teammate. Coach Mo overdoes it – trying to work twice as hard, twice as long. Julio calls him an old warrior, he fights until he has nothing left. He tweaks his back, and Medic has to come in and help him up so he can walk it out. Bob says he’s panicking, which will make it seem worse. Bob goes out to talk to him, and try to get him to be positive, knowing every week has been a battle to keep him there. The only other option is to go home – and the pain will still be there. Bob has him reast for an hour and see if he can get on the bike after that. Bob tells us Mo just needs to get his head on straight. Mo limps back inside and gets on the bike to the swell of triumphant music in the background. Heh.

It’s weigh in time! Everyone is worried – they don’t even know exactly what they’ve been eating, Liz says everyone might have even gained weight this week, they just don’t know. Ali says it’s not about the weight they’ve lost this week, but the knowledge they’ve gained. Dina admits that it was tough, and they didn’t have as much energy because their calories weren’t always where they should be. Daniel says it sucked.

Here’s how it broke down:

Team Name Last Week This Week Loss %
Pink Amanda 235 230 -5 1.86%
Rebecca 248 244 -4
Purple Tracey 217 213 -4 2.21%
Coach Mo 326 318 -8

Green

Allen 292 285 -7 1.97%
Abby 216 213 -3
Brown Liz 243 240 -3 1.74%
Danny 390 382 -8
Blue Rudy 388 377 -11 2.57%
Dina 234 229 -5
Orange Daniel 287 287 0 .69% Immune
Shay 437 432 -5
Black Julio 368 364 -4 1.09%

Daniel loses 0, and they accuse him of strategy, and he says no. Jillian says that means he made stupid choices, and he knows better than that. Bob says it means he’s playing the game just as much as Tracey is because he has immunity.

Green team goes up – and Bob is worried because Abby is still working out only in the pool. They’re happy with what they lost – though they felt sluggish. Abby says it’s a marathon not a sprint.

Blue’s next: Rudy is worried, he’s had really great numbers, this could be his bad week. It’s not! Dina teases him “You stole my number!” They lose 16 pounds together. Jillian says Rudy is a machine. Fat just melts off.

Brown’s up – and Liz is worried. She prays that Danny has a good number, she’s not confident at all. They need 16 pounds to take the lead – they only get 11. They’re frustrated.

Purple is up next, and Coach Mo hopes he’s done enough to keep them there another week. Tracy goes all teary and says she has to better herself, that’s why she’s there. Tracy wasn’t supposed to lose any weight, and Coach is worried because they need to lose 10 pounds. He’s just decided he needs to stay, and it might not be enough. It IS. Together they lose 12. Shay does not applaud. She tells us it kills her that another healthy team goes home while they sit there and can’t work out. Tracy was shocked. Mo says you should let sleeping giants lay, they’re there to fight another day.

Julio, team black, the team of one – is up. He only loses 4 pounds, and says he’s proud of every one of them, he struggled for them. Jillian is surprised, says it should have been higher, something wasn’t right. It’ll be their mission to figure out what went wrong.

Pink is up next – it’s them or the brown team that will join Julio below the yellow line. They need more than 8 pounds to stay safe. They get 9!

That puts Liz and Danny below the yellow line with Julio. They don’t want to fight against each other to stay. Julio and Liz are really close, Julio says “She takes care of me, I take care of her and we take care of Danny.” He doesn’t want to go home, but won’t say he deserves it more than them. Liz says the same, she’ll be heartbroken no matter who goes. They don’t want to go home, but doesn’t want Julio to either, they have to just decide. Liz isn’t sure she can do it at home. Danny is scared to go home, too. Coach reminds them someone goes home every week – they all have to fight when they go home. Julio says he doesn’t want to go home, but if he has too, he will do it at home. Tracy promised liz she wouldn’t vote for her, while Mo promised Julio that he wouldn’t either. They don’t know what to do.

Orange and Pink team talk, and they know Liz wouldn’t have a problem voting them out – but that’s not the way they want to play the game.

In the end, they decide to send Julio home, with Orange, Green and Purple voting for Julio, all saying that he can do it at home, through lots of tears and love. (though everytime Tracy cries, i cry FAKE.) Julio says he’s good, he’s ready to see his family, and he knows they won’t let him quit.

And they haven’t – he’s lost 108 pounds now, and is hoping to have lost a total of 200 before the finale. Way to go, Julio!
