The Next Food Network Star
It’s that time again – Food Network is searching for their next Rachael Ray, their next Bobby Flay, to spearhead a new show on the network. Of course, I haven’t seen much of the last winner, Amy Finley, with her show The Gourmet Next Door. Maybe it hasn’t officially started, or maybe it completely bombed in production, but either way she hasn’t done much of anything yet. I guess she’s not the next Ray or Flay to take over the network, hm?
So instead, we’ve a crop of 10 new hopefuls all wanting the chance at a new show. Bobby Flay heads up the selection committee, and they toss the group into the first challenge with the help of Alton Brown. They had to describe their Unique Food Outlook in once sentence. Some bombed, a couple did all right, but none of them were memorable to me at all. They pressed on, and in teams of two made 3 dishes to present to a pantheon of Food Network Celebs to taste and pick apart. In the end, Cori, the Comedian we first met on Last Comic Standing, was sent packing. Apparently her cooking didn’t match up to her comedy. IN fact, she was told point blank she was too unhappy.
Though Cori was the only one eliminated, there was some harsh comments for the others in the bottom four as well. Nipa is entirely too confident, Shane is too self-conscious and Lisa too rigid and overpowering. (And is it wrong of me to totally want to dredge lisa in flour and deapfry her? What a snob!) Nipa saunters upstairs after being told she’s safe saying she knew she wasn’t going home. Yeah. She’s gonna be brought down a peg or three, I’m pretty sure.
Cori packs and heads off, as the others are stunned that it was her and not Lisa. Maybe going home will cheer her up a bit, hm? Just goes to show that not everyone is cut out for every reality competition….

Hey! You!
Yeah you! All this bullshit I write? Is mine. So keep your hands off, will ya? I'm sure you could totally come up with better shit on your own.
Also - dude. All opinions stated herein these pages are my own, and not those of anyone I might know, or work for. Just in case you think I'm slamming something important, like, oh, say, my work place. Anything that you might think is about you? Well, you might be wrong - but you might right too, and you just might be offended.
But ya know what? You also have the right to fuck the hell off. My world does NOT revolve around you. So put on your big person panties, and realize one simple truth:
We are adults. If you find me offensive - then quit fucking finding me.
