DWTS

It’s here! Night one of a THREE NIGHT opening week. And we thought they were stretching it to 2 hours, and now it’s SIX? Good god people. Anyway – I don’t know that I’ll go indepth this way every week, but I was watching, and the keyboard was RIGHT HERE, so, you know, here we go.

Tonight – it’s all about the Men. And the MANBOOBS. Yes. You read that right. Wait till you see who SAID IT. This season? Already a hit!

Aaron First up – Pop Star Aaron Carter and Karina:
Aaron is quite the flirt, and is happy that he has a beautiful teacher – but can she reign in his energy?
Cha-Cha: 7, 8, 7 = 22
It’s not bad, but very sharp, stilted.. needs to pull it in a bit more and gain some fluidity. Definite potential!

MMA star Chuck Liddell and Anna:
Anna says Chuck is the most manly man she’s ever seen – her object is to get him to smile, so he doesn’t scare everyone!
Foxtrot: 6, 5, 5 = 16
Very rough, a long way to go, says Bruno: the footwork was pour, the lines terrible, the timing went – but your charming! Hah! Len said it was better than he thought it would be and he needs to get in touch with his femine side – CarriAnn saw potential, wasn’t graceful, but was smooth.

MarkMartial Arts and Food Network Star, Mark Dacascos, and Lacey:
Lacey says he’s flexible, has a bit of natural ability, making her job easy – and Mark is glad to have Lacey, as well as as his ability to focus and wants to earn the respect of his new master, Lacey. Heh. They dance to Kunk fu fighting, of course. Haha!
Chacha: 7, 7, 7 = 21
Standing O from the audience. CarriAnn says the arms are a little “whuchu” so watch your arms. Len doesn’t like gimmicks, and understands it, but doesn’t want to see Kung Fu in every dance – it worked good here though, Bruno says it was partly a treat, he lost his timing a bit, watch heel/toe, but the talent is there.
He tehn tells Samantha that he’s used to protecting the body, but Lacey wants him to show his manboobs.

That’s it. The season is a hit. The Chairman said MANBOOBS.

Comedian and Actor Ashley Hammilton and Edyta:
Edyta danced with his dad too, and she realizes it’s gonna be a challenge. He says his past accidents have caught up with him, the physical stuff is hard – his left side doesn’t work quite well yet. Edyta says she can deal with just one side, who needs the other!
Foxtrot: 5, 6, 4 = 15
Len said his footwork was correct in the basic steps, it wasjust a bit rough. Bruno says good looks, charm, lack of showmanship – his daddy knew how to sell it, he needs to learn. CarrieAnne says he needed to define himself, so work on that.

DonnyShowbiz Legend Donnie Osmand and Kym
Kym says she’s very lucky – he’s a heartthrob. He asks about hand placement – and she says “It sounds rude, but pretend there’s a boob on my back” and Donnie dissolves into giggles. My god I love this show. *L*
Foxtrot: 7, 6, 7 = 20
Another standing o from the audience – it was really good! Bruno says he can play the audience like a fiddle – buuuuut, his shoulders are bad, isn’t quite confident yet, but he can sell it.CarrieAnn says he’s obviously a fan favorite, the room went insane, but it’s ballroom – they want the holds. Len says what they did, they did very well, but it was too theatrical, not enough ballroom.

Snowboard champ Louie Vito and Chelsea
Louis is glad to get tiny Chelsea, since he’s only 5’6, but dancing is a lot harder then he thought, but they get along great, but he thinks she’s messing with him half the time as she tapes his head to the posture bar. Ha! Poor kid. He’s never even seen the show!
Foxtrot: 6, 7, 6 = 19
Well, it wasn’t as bad as it could have been! CarrieAnn is surprise, as he respected the dance, and went with an honest effort to get it right – he was slipping a little, so wear the heels, all the time. Len disses his hair, but having said that – his technique was very good, as was his holds and posture, he enjoyed it. Bruno says it was so cute, it was a like watching a little dancing hobbit, but he could be really really good.

MichaelSuperbowl Champ Mike Irving with the new Pro Anna
He wants to bet Jerry Rice – it could be his own chance to beat him. She breaks out the hula hoop to losen up his hoops, and we see him asking the mirror why he did this – Anna? “Jerry did it.” Mike: alright! Jerry got a 21 on his ChaCha – all he needs is a 22.
ChaCha: 5, 4, 4 = 13. Ouch.
Oh dear. It was a train wreck – but Len breaks it to him easier, it wasn’t a good one, and Anna didn’t have enough content – he hopes the V. Waltz saves them.. Bruno says he’s a crowd pleaser, but it was pout- no footwork, no content, no timing. CarrieAnn says he beat Jerry Rise on Charisma – but it was a case of lack of content, so push him harder.

tomPolitician Tom DeLay and Cheryl:
Cheryl finds it hard to get the conservative to get the sexy moves, but he’s charming. He says he’s scared he’ll embarrass himself. He makes a jok of course “Going Left for me is outrageous!”
ChaCha: 6, 5, 5 = 16
They dance to Wild Thing – and Peppermist says “OMMMG I”M BURNING ON THE INSIDE! I can’t unsee that!” and hid her eyes…
Bruno syas ‘bloody hell what’s going on?” and that the little chachacha they did wasn’t bad. CarrieAnn says it was surreal – it was nice, he’s light o his feet and has a natural grace that blows her away, and Len says the chacha was well done, what there was of it.

It’s time for the Relay Dance, something new. Two groups of 4, and they’ll get points based on how well they do against each other. 10,8,6,4 – they each get 30 seconds to shine.

First up – Salsa Relay: Donnie, Chuck, Ashley, Louie
Carrie says Donnie smoked them – it’s all about side by side, Chuck knows how to work a woman, and Louie it was ambitious. Len says Ashley it was a dance only his dad could love, Donnie had rhythm. Bruno says Donnie was shaking it, Chuck, a revelation, didn’t know he had it within him – more of that, Louie, work on rhythm.

The scores: 4th Ashley – 4 points, 3rd Chuck – 6 points, 2nd Louie – 8 points, 1st Donnie with 10 points.

Next up: The V.Waltz – Aaron, Mark, Tom and Michael
Len says that Tom did alright, but needed smoothness, Mark had good control, Len said Aaron worked the floor and Mark’s lines are fantastic, Tom was skimpy, Mike – better. Carrie said that mark has the potential to be fantastic, but breathe! Tom was elegant, Michael and Anna – better, much better.

The scores: 4th Tom – 4 points, 3rd Michael – 6 points, 2nd Mark – 8 points, 1st Aaron with 10 points.

Tomorrow night? The Women take the floor!

  • Tina Brown says:

I have 4 favorites: Aaron and Karina, Mark and Lacey, Donnie and Kym and Louie and Chelsea. I predict Donnie to go a looooong way in the competition. He gave a good performance with lots of showmanship. Of course the judges criticized him for this. They did the same thing to Lance Bass in his season. Since the judges scoring counts for half? (Is this right Lessa?) It will have a big influence on the outcome in the end. Look foward to seeing the women tonight to see who will be strong in the competition.:)
