Holy cow, lookit me being a bad blogger! I didn’t realize until watching the show last night, that I’d forgotten my recap for last week! Boy, I suck! So let’s catch up shall we? We’ll now rewind, step back in time, and see what happened last week.

As we returned post elimination, the talk was all about the week two curse, and Ali gave them a reason to beat it: if they all, collectively, worked together as a team and lost a total of 150 pounds, no one would go home. They all accepted the challenge, and even accepted Coach Mo’s advice about how to work together as a team, and even let him into their head a bit to help keep them motivated. They were gonna break the “week two curse” no matter what.

Of course, Shay was all kinds of snarky about Julio, since he often chose to work out on his own, which made her doubt he’s been doing anything at all. According to her, he should have dropped bigger numbers, and he needs to be grateful they kept him there, and pull his weight. (Get it? HAHAH! I kill me!) Of course, what Shay never mentions is that she? Lost the same amount of weight as he did. Shouldn’t she be concerned for her own numbers?

BobJillianBob and Jillian are both skeptical, and think this is impossible to do in week two. They take the divide and conquer approach, and split the group in half – one to get their ass kicked in the gym, while the other gets nutrition lessons from Jillian. For the first time that I can remember, we actually HEAR the target amount of calories these folks are burning on a daily basis: Men, 8000, women 6000 – all while maintaining at 1200 calorie a day diet. Daaaaaaym.

Mo visits Tracy in the hospital, to let her know he’d saved them as a team, and she tells him she’ll be on the ranch the following day to begin her journey in earnest.

Curtis Stone (…mmmmyummy…) is on hand for the first challenge, and gives them all tips on nutrition – then Ali quizzes them. If they answer 5/8 questions right, they win a 15 pound advantage in the weighin – big stakes for week two! It’s a close call, but with just 2 more chances, they get that fifth right answer, and the 15 pounds.

challengeTheir next challenge is a diamond of balance beams – each stop gives them some more pound advantage – as long as everyone crosses – and a phone call home. The catch is, if just one person falls off the balance beam into the water, it’s all over. Despite the shakes, they manage to get all the way around, and score themselves phone calls home, AND another 20 pound advantage. Now, they only have to lose 115 pounds for everyone to stay.

Cue the tissue alert, as everyone makes their calls, and Sean gets to find out the baby they’re expecting is a little girl. Awwww.

The last chance workout is BRUTAL – but is it enough?

Team Name Last Wk. This Wk. Loss
Pink Amanda 244 240 -4
Rebecca 261 255 -6
Purple Tracey 238 228 -10
Coach Mo 336 327 -9
Red Antoine 349 341 -8
Sean 422 411 -11
Green Allen 306 286 -10
Abby 232 221 -11
Brown Liz 257 247 -10
Danny 406 394 -12
Blue Rudy 414 400 -14
Dina 245 237 -8
Orange Daniel 300 293 -7
Shay 459 443 -16
Black Julio 394 375 -19
      Total: -155

endIt was indeed! Not only did they lose enough, but they lost enough to not even need the weight advantages they’d earn! As Shay said – they told week two to shove it! And Julio proved he had been working out just as much as the rest of them, by dropping an astonishing 19 pounds. Shay was speechless, which after her trash talk diaries was quite a welcome change.

Coming up next: teamwork? what teamwork?!
