Recaps and birthdays!
FOR THE RECORD:
I’m never taking my shoes off again – as it seems, that maybe, probably but I refuse to think about it, my lil baby boy has (finally – by his thinking) topped me in height! SOB!!
First picture with shoes and second, without. SOB!
But at least? We’re both still taller then Nana Moosie and Auntie Ladybug!
So! Recaps!
Friday saw me climbing willingly into the van of the blind papa to allow him to drive up to Anchorage where we had some business training to attend – where I took notes for him so that we BOTH could read them when we returned. *L* He is, after all, not only halfblind, but has crappy handwriting too. And there’s always the added bonus of following directions, where we have the blond (me) leading the blind (him) – Anchorage will never be the same. *L*
Nana Moosie had to work in the morning, so drove up to meet with us later on, at which time we had dinner and then skipped over to check into the hotel, and then to the Ice Cream Social at the RVP’s newly remodeled and thus GORGEOUS house. Rubbin elbows with the rich, we was – and that was just to get at the cake n ice cream! hahahahaha! *smirk* It was fun to people watch though – a couple standouts were the one woman i watched PHYSICALLY insinuate herself into the center of every conversation between 2-3 people in the room. She would literally step infront of one of the people and take over the conversation. It was rather amusing to watch. The other standout is one of the local people from down here, who seriously looked like she was casing the joint. I hope they checked her ‘big purse’ before she left!
Our buddy D passed her licensing exam for securities while we were up there, so after the social, while nana and papa went to sleep, she and I chatted and had a lovely time in the hotel bar, where some guy made NO attempt to hide that he was listening and that he found our giggling and chattering amusing. hee! She and I made it to her room (getcha minds outa the gutter! She had an extra bed, and that allowed nana and papa to stretch out in the two beds in the room we’d gotten – everyone was more comfy and slept better that way!), where we collapsed and slept until I got the call in the early am that it was breakfast time. D thought I was kidding when I said I could get up and ready in 5 minutes – until I managed to do so, all with only actually opening my eyes to put my contacts in. *L*
So then! It was off to the Builder’s School, which, alas me Blyght-ed One, did not involve Flannel Shirts and Tool Belts, as it was a builder’s school for me mind. (A far scarier proposition!) The speakers were good, lunch was good, it was very upbeat and motivational and exciting to find out I really was doing things the right way and that it WILL pay off for me eventually and likely sooner then I think. So. Yeah. Good things all the way around.
It was also EXHAUSTING. *L* But good. We then made the all important trip to WallyWorld to find a new BigGirlBike for the pup, for her birthday before heading home. It was a great trip – and much fun Nana + Papa!

In more important news, what with that silly BigGirlBike, we HAD to have the Birthday party today before the Pup saw what was in the back of Papa’s van. Hee! So at 2pm, we were off to the HappyStarPlace (Carl’s Jr.) where the kids played in the tubes, and we had lunch and cake and ice cream and, of course, presents.
The pup headed to go wash her face before opening her gifts, and she was calling for my help so I followed her to keep her busy while Papa brought the bike inside for her to find. Little did I know, until I saw the urinal, she had drug me to the BOYS bathroom! *L* So we skipped over to the CORRECT bathroom, and washed up before we headed back to the playroom.
Where we all said “happy birthday! look!” and she was all “oooooh thanks..” while looking EVERYWHERE BUT AT THE BIKE… she totally did NOT see it, until I finally said “the BIKE, pup, the BIKE IS YOURS…”
THEN the squeels and giggles and trying it out and laughter and JUST HOW BLOND my daughter is!
Nana and papa got her some flashy lights for her bike spokes AND the beaYOOtiful outfit (dress n jacket) she got early enough to wear to Church today and Auntie ladybug and fam got her the helmet (PRETTY PURPLE PRINCESS helmet!) and knee n elbow pads, and there was a lava lamp and a bag of goodies from a teacher at her school, and then we came home so the older two could teach her to ride the new big bike with handle brakes and everything! At which time the girl says “Here! like this!” and promptly CRASHED and banged up her KNEE and BLED and it made me LAUGH at her because i’m a MEAN MOMMY! Course, she was laughing too, but STILL!
So all in all, a very good weekend, and you can see pictures of the party if ya like, and I leave you with a very happy Birthday pup.

We had so MUCH fun. thank you to the pup for a much needed giggle. All of us were trying to get her to look straite forward…. she wouldn’t …what a gas…. Uncle had a blast. what fun it was to have him there too. She looks like she is doing a great job on the bike…. can’t believe that she is getting so tall. WOW!.. Happy Birfday baby girl. We love you!
*not mentioning the urinal thing nope* Aww, and here I was, hoping that you would come back with all sorts of blueprints and line drawings to build yourself a home child-storage unit out of OAK and IRON LOCKS! *laughing* It is good to have you back among the jury of your peers I love the pics! The boy is getting within _this_ close to being taller than you are, yup. That is so cute; she didn’t even see the bike until you pointed it out to her. Yup, that’s it, I must have your children!
