OK – the promised updates..
- Little League! Yup – it’s begun, our 5 weeks of complte craziness, though this year it’s a little bit easier because the boy has decided to umpireand not play this year. Of course, in his place, we have the wee ladybug, who’s joining the ranks in her first year of t-ball.The pup and Bug are doing really well! They are in their first year of coach pitch, and in both their first games have gotten good solid hits and made it to first base – a total win at this age level. Tonight they had the added benefit of playing catcher for an inning, the both of them! Timothy volunteered, and the pup, well she followed instantly because “Anything he can do i can do too!”
The girl also had her first game last night, and in a thrilling display of Angel-ic delight, they trounced Sistercity, Soldotna, 15-5! In THEIR home field too. Heh. It was an awesome start to the season, and the girl got herself a solid hit, as well as an RBI, and played 2nd base.
- My kids? So much cooler then any other kids. Why? Um. cuz they paid me to say that. *shining grin* Actually, at the awards ceremony at the Middle School today, I was just surprised to find out that The Boy got the Director’s Award for 8th grade Choir for outstanding character and dedication for the past three years! WHOO! I’m *so* proud of him!!
- School’s out?!? WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
- Emotional breakdowns – it’s the little things that sneak up on ya that get you. Like how much he HATED hearing it was baseball season again, because it postponed any camping with the kids for the first month of summer vacation. He would have *loved* our schedule this year, as after this weekend, we have no friday or saturday games. He would have been content with that. And as I grabbed my ball cap and headed toward the first game, it all kinda hit me. It’s not quite the same level of craziness without his bitching in the background – until he’d talk to the kids, of course, and it was all about how well they’re doing and how proud of him he always was. He even sat through several games for each of them, though there was little he hated more, sportswise, then baseball. I controlled the breakdown till later, but it still hurts. It’s the stupid little things that still sneak in. blah.
- And! Bill the Homeless guy. There, I mentioned him – course, you’ll have to wait for Nana Moosie to share the story and picture. *grin*
- The end. Heh.
