She’s a yapper!
Well – so far so good! Two weeks in and the school is still standing and the pup is having a blast. She gets to ride the bus every morning and ride the CARTS van home. That is the Centeral Area Rural Transit System, btw – basically, though you have to be 7 to ride alone, they have a specially funded “kinder” program that allows the kinders to ride for free if you qualify for reduced price lunches – which we do. So they pick her up in her class room, and the other kinders who ride as well, and drop them off at their homes – walking them right on up to the door and making sure someone is home to receive them too.. Drivers have to go through several background checks and tests, etc and everything too. And she LOVES it.
She always askes me though “how’d you know I was here!” and well – it’s easy! Even with my front door closed, I can hear her talking the minute they open the van door outside. *L* The driver today gave me today’s title “She is a yapper!” and I just laughed and nodded… and he continued “That’s ok though, she’s a lot of fun to listen too.” And what’s funny is EVERY driver she’s had has said the same thing in some form or fashion. I guess she talks from the time they pick her up in the class room till they drop her off here.
Hee. Makes my silent mornings all the more special, don’t it? *L* I’ve been doing this for FIVE YEARS already. *L*
She had her first field trip today too. I was a bad mommy and forgot it was today – thinking it was tomorrow, but being the first they expect someone to forget so Mrs. B had extra sammiches for lunch. Anyway – they piled into cares and went to a local farm here, and dug potatoes! It’s an annual thing that Mrs. B has done for about 10 years now, and great fun for the owners and the Kinders alike. The pup said that she dug up “firty-two!” (32) potatoes. In the next couple of weeks she and her class will do a number of potato related activities too, from counting, to doing ‘potato stamp painting” to cooking “stone soup” and so on. I remember all of this from when the girl had Mrs. B, something the Girl remembers fondly as well.
The boy is enjoying Jr. high as well. Apparently – there’s a dance tomorrow night even. And apparently he’s going.
SOB!
He’s even talking to a GIRL still. *SOB* but so far his grades are pretty good and he’s working hard. This gives me hope for the year, which after last year is certainly needed.
The Girl loves her teacher, and is looking forward to starting to take band. Soon I shall be subjected to the practice sessions of the clarinet each and every day. Oh goody! *L*It’s something she wants to do though, So i’m all for it. I’m going to invest in ear plugs though. *L*
As for me – well, things are the same. Kinda normal, kinda stressed, kinda waiting to get done with my classes. 2.5 weeks left! Whoot! I began two new website design jobs last week and have been happily cavorting around in photoshop and html/css beautifulness, with the promise of a couple other jobs in the works as well. One of the current ones is actually for a nationally published magazine even! it’s brand new, and I’m working for advertising space, but it’s certainly worth it. Here’s hoping the mag takes off! It’s a local business and I think it could really be big in the long run. Here’s hoping anyway!
So anyway – I’m feeling very very VERY tired today. Not sure why – didn’t get to sleep till about 3am, got up at 7 and got the kids off to breakfast at gramma and papas, and then went back to bed. The sis woke me up at 9:30 with a phone call that I listened somewhat too… I vaguely remember it even occuring. *L* and then I dind’t wake up till noon. What’s worse is I’ve fallen asleep here in my chair no less then 3 times since then! Not sure what’s up but oy – I could still curl up and sleep right now – if I didn’t have so much blasted work to do right now.
Hrm. So. Nice and boring quick catchup with me. *L* Aren’t ya the lucky ones…

Yup. The Pup is taking over the school. Big surprise, eh? *L* OR at very least, takes over her table.
And yet, with all this attention on World Domination, she still has time to sneak off to Gramma and Papa’s and get a little cuddle time.
Yeah. She rules THAT house too. *LOL*
