Wee lil… duckies? …all in a row

Haven’t seen my kids in a couple days – except when they ‘stop by’ to ‘get money’ so they can all go to town… hrm. *L* THey’ve been staying at and helping Auntie Ladybug this week, keeping the kids occupied and out of their hair, as well as babysitting (the older two) so that Auntie Ladybug and Mr. Bug could go fishing.

Course, that’s not COMPLETELY true. I did see them the other night because they wanted me to pick up movies for them – and bribed me with what they knew would work: Auntie Ladybug’s Chilli and burritos. See, she makes some of the BEST chilli ever, and her burritos are to die for. But APPARENTLY she told them not to tell me they were having it for dinner! HARUMPH! SO my kids, wanting movies, stole Auntie Ladybug’s cell phone to sneak a phone call to me.

“We swiped you a bowl of chilli – told her it was butter and you were out so its in the butter dish but you gotta come get it QUICK! and could you bring us some movies too?”

So, since I just HAPPENED to be headed to blockbuster anyway, I picked up the movies, and took them over – which was when they sweetened the pot with a swiped burrito too. Them kids sure know how to get momma to do what they want!

Like today, for instance. The boy, girl, pup, bug, and wee ladybug were riding bikes (cept the wee ladybug who was riding in the carriage) into town, so since Auntie Ladybug didn’t cough up the cash, they came to MY house, bearing daisys and BIG BLUE EYES to get ice cream money.

Shut up. I am not a softy.

Ok, I totally am. But they were so CUTE! See?

Who could blame me? All lined up and calling out “alright troops! saddle up! here we go!” and taking care of their siblings/cousins and… awwwww. such good kids. You woulda given them ice cream money too.

Specially after they’d pilfered chilli for you two nights before. *Grin*

PS – something’s… missing… round here…
(also known as when _I_ was a kid the toothfairy didn’t give a BUCK PER TOOTH! harumph. Damned inflation!)
