Celebrity Circus – final four!

Posted by Lessa on July 4, 2008 in Celebrity Circus, NBC with Comments closed |

This week wastes no time before a star leaves, though it’s not because of an elimination by vote – Christopher Knight fell from the trapeze and re-injured his arm. We watched a recap of ‘his journey’ and the judges showered him with praise, and how he’s an inspiration and unique. Awww. Poor old Brady Dude! That means that the competition continues – and Joey says that Chris would not have been eliminated tonight according to the vote – which means they’d better step it up, big time!

WeeMan is up first, and he’s doing Hand Balancing with Vlad. He doesn’t want to let Vlad down like he did in the German Wheel. After a visit from the smallest body builder in the world, Romeo, who’s only 20 inches tall, he was inspired to keep going, despite the limitations of their size differences. They swing in on ropes and get started with the act. It’s standard fair, and WeeMan wobbled a bit, but he did what he could do, being so short – but en the end, he did pick up Vlad, which was pretty awesome! The judges were impressed, and gave him a score of 10, 10, 10! Huh. I didn’t think it warranted that much, but alrighty.

It’s Stacy Dash’s turn, and she’s going to perform the Cradle. She took time out to go to her daughter’s Birthday party, and then it was straight to the gym once again. It’s breathtaking as they tumbled and swung and jumped and wow – nice. Lots of tricks, but the judges were a little hard on her for concentrating too hard and not making it fluid enough – but they want the Diva Dust back. Her scores: 8, 8, 8.

Next up, Antonio Sabato Jr. tackles the Wheel of Death after only 4 days of training. Heh. He was supposed to do trapeze, but it just wasn’t coming together for him after 8 weeks, so he moved to the Wheel of Death, but he says he loves being afraid. This is the event for him then! He’s in search of a 10 as he takes on the Wheel. Shirtless. RAWR. They kept cutting away from him though, but what I saw was pretty cool. He ended with a headstand on the outside of the wheel at the very top. The judges weren’t happy that he was repeating the same trick over and over, though what he did perform it was done well, but the event wasn’t his strongest event. Antonio starts getting uppity, with Aurelia and says he won’t crack her head again for her, he’s a man and won’t take it anymore. The scores: 7, 7, 8. He gets in one more shot, says he’s doing it for his kids and the fans, not for Aurelia.

We get a montage about training, and learn that they had 8 weeks to train the first act, and since then they have 4 days to meet their trainer and partner, , learn the routine, music and every week is getting harder and they’re all exhausted physically and mentally.

Next up, it’s Rachael Hunter vs. “a vicious beast in the most dangerous act we’ve ever attempted!” Why do I get the feeling – after all this buildup – that this is a clown act? How will she handle taming a raging bull? They show her training with her trainer wearing a bullshead before she has to face the bull, though they don’t show it until the performance. Joey says to stay in their seats no matter what happens, and it’s time for Rachael to fling the cape a bit – which she messes up once but then she says she’s ready and its…. nope, not clowns. It’s…. dogs. Chihuahuas.

Little dogs who end up pulling her pants off, showing ruffles. Nice. Aurielia isn’t sure what to say, but it was entertaining. They didn’t expect this type of act from her, but it was amusing and they’re speechless – except Louis of course who says it was a carcrash but he loved it. The scores: 6,6,7 – 6.3 average. She says they were a little higher then she expected, and she’s giggling and says she was just glad to make them smile.

So next week we’ll find which three stars will perform in the finale!

BB

Hope you’ve enjoyed your day with the three Fs – family, friends and fireworks! The site seems stable for the moment, so I’m going to go ahead and post this while I can. Please don’t forget us here at BigBrotherCraze – rest assured I’m nagging the hell outa the server to make sure we’re up and running and in tiptop shape before the premiere at the absolute latest!

In the meantime, according to the TV Guide, we’ll get our first ‘official’ look at the houseguests Tuesday Morning on the Early Show with Julie Chen, and on Friday, Julie will give us the official tour of the house. It’s quite possible that TVGuide.com or another official source will spill the houseguest beans the night before like they have in the past, too – we’ll be on the lookout for sure!

We’re down to single digits! This means, of course that we only have 9 days to sleep, clean, remind our kids we love them, kiss the hubby without straining to watch the feeds/tv through the reflection in his glasses, sleep, stock up on late night snackables, and – oh yeah! – sleep!

Let the madness begin!

PS – some more news on the possible houseguests mentioned below. Someone at Sucks claims to have information on the Socialite – her sister is visiting and had tried out for BB in New Orleans. She says she was standing next to who she believes is the New Orleans Socialite – a very over the top women with a big personality. A big brunette hairdo, with a Bette Midler walk in platform sandals, big diamond jewelry and a thick accent – nice looking with an ok figure. Her sister figured her for a shoe-in the minute she saw her.

Fact or fiction? We’ll find out in a few days!

Orange County BitchBeauty.

Oh. My. Goodness. Could this show POSSIBLY be any more insane? Watching this last night prompted my houseguest to exclaim “HOW DO YOU WATCH THIS STUFF?” and I replied that I do it for YOU ALL. Seriously. It has nothing to do with my adoration of all things Reality TV. Really.

This week’s episode was kind of blah. Sure, they had the bitch from Season One, Tabitha, back to judge, and she was just as witchy as we expected from her with all her snooty little snide comments. (Yeah. I kinda love her a little. But just a little.) She judged the short cut challenge, which had the contestants doing “fun and flirty” with short cuts. Some were good, some sucked horribly, and the Charlie took the biggest risk with a Mia Farrow cut (short short SHORT) that was fantastic. Said his model “I feel naked, and I LOVE it.” He won the challenge.

Nakisa is the worst and told to “step it up” for the elimination challenge.

SYTYCD – Results!

Posted by Lessa on July 4, 2008 in Fox, SYTYCD with Comments closed |

It’s results time for our top 14 – how did you vote? We start off with a group number by Tyce Diorio to “Money, Money” from Caberet, which is just plain fun to watch – especially as they end it by throwing out fake $100 bills with nigel’s face on them! Fun! Cat looks fabulous tonight in red, though my daughter (and I) want to know what is on her head – sure, it’s her hair, but it’s very odd. I liked last nights old school glam much better!

Anyway – they pick on Tyce a little more (yay filler!) with a montage of his descent into meanness during the auditions, while he stammers and blushes in the audience, before it’s time to get the ball rolling. First up – Twitch and Kerrington and Kacee and Josh. Cat decides they all need a heart attack by saying “Which one of these couples are in the bottom three?” then announcing that neither of them are, which lead to quite the happy dancing, and shocked looks and Cat’s apologies while laughing, of course. Haha!

Kourtni and Matt, Courtney and Gev, and Chelsie and Mark join Ms. Deely on the stage, to discover that Kourtni and Matt are in the bottom three once again, though Kourtni’s hair is looking FIERCE tonight. The judges think they just aren’t connecting enough with America, but plan to do so with their solos.

Courtney and Gev find out that they are in the bottom three as well (noooo!), while Chelsie and Mark are safe. Cat asks Nigel what happened because Courtney and Gev are the “Cutest things on the PLANET!” He just says it depends on their solos, it’s the way it goes, that’s all, no big deal.

Next up we find out the fates of Jessica and Will, as well as Comfort and Thayne. The last in the bottom three are Comfort and Thayne (aaaaaaaaaaah. I bet they, and Courtney and Gev are safe tonight. There’s really no other choice. Le sigh.) Mary says that it was might that they were a new couple, but they did fabulously last night, and Comfort really shined and Thayne is “the sure thing dude” and he stood out in the group number.

Before the solos, our guest dancer is the popper who walked away from the competition in Vegas, Robert Muraine, and he’s still fanfreakingtastic! In a weird and slightly disturbing way of course. He dances to “Everybody dance now” and gets a standing ovation! Nigel picks on him for giving up, and wants him to do a dance off between him and Phillip Chbeeb and he says he’s all for it, so Nigel’s says if he won’t chicken out again, he’ll contact Phillip and maybe have it for the Finale – that? would be AWESOME.

The Waterpup on day three!

Posted by Lessa on July 3, 2008 in family |

So, today, the pup hit another milestone in the whole swimming lesson crusade, for it was jump off the diving board day! She doesn’t usually have much fear to speak of, and CLEARLY loves the water and I’m beginning to wonder if she has gills to go along with her long skinny feet that look suspiciously like flippers at times – but even so, I wasn’t sure if she’d chicken out or not. After all, I have never ever jumped off a diving board in my entire life and I have exactly zero plan to do so, ever. So I wouldn’t blame her at all- though I totally would let the coaches toss her in give her a nudge in the right direction. I have a ‘mean’ rep to protect, after all!

So anyway, at the end of the lesson, everyone moved to the diving board, and after letting EVERYONE ELSE GO FIRST because she was a little scared being polite and waiting her turn, she couldn’t put it off any longer – and with only the slightest of hesitations, she took the plunge!

Hurray! She also made it almost the entire way across the pull without having to stop/grab onto Coach Billy. By the end of next week, I fully expect her to pass out of lvl 2 and into lvl 3 the following week. I also expect I’ve a long year of swim mom coming up this winter. Of course, this also means I’m eying all of those KCHS Lady Kardinal records that hang on the wall at the pool, the ones that say “M.B.” from the early 90s. I fully expect the lot of them to be replaced by the year 2016 with “J.M.”

Wheaties Form!

I mean, just LOOK at that form though – don’t it belong on a Wheaties box? I thought so too. But no pressure, pup. No pressure at all. *grin*

Captives
savemeeeee an' stay there!
lockers04 caught

PS – anyone know where can get a set of those *points up* for my house? And padlocks to go with them? After all, it’s a step up from her box, right? hahahhaha.
