Myriad Mishmash in no particular order:
Ok ok ok, I’ll update! SHEESH! Sarah can be so demanding – it’s a good thing she’s CUTE! (raaaaaaawr!)

It’s that time again! The Little League Season is getting underway. We still don’t know who the pup’s coach is, but the Girl had her first FastPitch Softball practice yesterday. She’s thrilled that she made the team with her favorite coach, even though today, after last nights practice, she’s QUITE sore and stiff. Opening ceremonies are on the 20th – which I’ll miss being in Anchorage and all – but for the next 6 weeks or so I’ll be even MORE busy then before.

Today I was doing some random blogsurfing, and came upon the following quote:
My sister is really active in her church. She works at the food pantry when they give food to
lazypoor people, teaches a kids Sunday School class, etc.
Now, I’m not gonna link where I found it, but it disturbs me. Sure, I’m not so stupid as to not realize that some people do take advantage of free food from food pantries and the like, but as someone who has used them when I needed to to supplement a sudden loss of income, or simply not enough income where that little extra was needed and greatly appreciated, I find the assumption that everyone who uses this is lazy greatly irritating. It must be nice to sit upon your high horse, and proclaim those of us who have needed a helping hand here and there lazy.
A real life scenerio – MY life, for you: I have never taken help when I didn’t need it. My husband worked his ass off to provide for us, and we’ve had it easier then a lot of folks. After his death, I was taken care of by some wonderful people who’s help gave me the ability to stay at home and be with my children as we started to pick up the pieces after such a devastating and unexpected loss. Now, as I take advantage of the survivors benefits that he worked hard to provide us with, I educate myself and work my ass off in not one, but TWO businesses, in order to keep us relatively comfortable. I have it better then some, worse then some. When people realize how little Me and my kids actually live on, they are stunned. It takes work, it takes tenacity.
Another scenerio for you way up there on your high horse: My sister’s husband has Cancer, and cannot work now. Do you look down upon them too for taking advantage of helping hands? Are they lazy for not going to work while he has chemo? Is my sister lazy for taking care of 4 kids and her husband through this?
I would NEVER proclaim those who need a helping hand up unilaterially Lazy, and to those who do? You can kiss my great white ass. There is a great need in our country, that cannot be solved by someone snubbing their nose from their comfort zone with assumptions and ridicule. Break out, and look around you. SEE what is really there. And offer a hand up to someone who needs it instead of being a judgemental bitch.

IN more PLEASANT news – the pup had her spring program today! They’ve been learning about birds, and the pup was QUITE happy to tell me all about her chosen bird, the penguin. They sang, played instruments, and even did the Chicken Dance – even more appropriate as the eggs they had in their room hatched this morning. Nothing is more satisfying then having the pup do a FLYING TACKLE in the hallway at me “you MADE it!” – like I was gonna miss it? Please. Thats why I work for myself, and why I choose my schedule carefully – so I don’t miss moment’s like those. Her goofy grin always makes it worth it!

Annnnnnnnnd last but not least! How cute are my neice and nephew? Doesn’t it just completely MELT YOU to look up in a window, and see THIS?

Two shiny happy faces thrilled to be waving at Auntie. All together now… awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!

And in case you think I’m kidding about working hard? Hahahah! I had 5 visitors at the op meeting tuesday. I had paperwork with dad yesterday. I have a new associate meeting tomorrow. Training Saturday morning. Meeting saturday afternoon. Mother’s day Sunday. Meeting Monday at noon, band concert monday evening followed by another meeting monday night. Plus, most likely, another few tucked in here and there as timing allows. Not to mention the OTHER job of updating (now that the bastard finally paid) and creating websites. Lazy? I don’t think so. Am I making a million yet? Nope, but I’m working on it. Just because I have the choice of not working till noon, doesn’t mean I’m not still at it at midnight. So bite me, Ms. high n mighty. Bite. Me.
Um. More!
…just for Sarah.
Yes. Who has demanded I write.
So here I are, writing.
THough now I must pause and rush out the door for the Pup’s little play thingamabobber, and thus will not be back for a bit. *L* And then! Then I shall…
…think about writing. *ducks and runs*
uh…
*checks date*
*checks out the window*
*checks date again*
WHAT THE HELL? it’s SNOWING! I’m pretty damn sure it’s supposed to be MAY!
harumph.
Whew. Tired Lessa.
Busy busy!
Friday morning – no nap for lessa! Nope, had to conduct an interview, and thus I had to shower and look kinda presentable. So did so, and then sat at Kaladi Brothers coffee, and got stood up! HARUMPH! And I’d practiced my presentation ALL MORNING! I was so disappointed – until I started chatting with someone with a beaYOOtiful puppy dog, and ended up interviewing her, as well as getting her promise to come to a meeting on Tuesday and bring her friend. Tada! way to turn a negative into a positive, Lessa! *flex*
Friday night, cinqo de mayo! So I wasn’t gonna participate and really had no intention of leaving my house really, but it was also the annual School Carnival for the pup, therefore, she insisted that I go. dammit. SO MANY PEOPLE in SUCH a tiny space. So I found a central location, gave the kids their tickets, and let them come find me when they were out. Worked out well, and I got to chat with some people I’ve known for years, and scored another meeting coming up this week. Whooo!
So – feeling like I was on a roll, we went and mooched dinner off mum and dad. Heh. At Rosita’s, the local mexican restaurant. Ok – I had EVERY INTENTION of paying. Still do. *grin* It was NUUUUMMY! And! the cute waiter/busboy was having a grand ole time (I still think he had a maguarita in the back he was sipping on. *L) and the pup won a t-shirt and the kids won maguarita’s (they can have virgin, or give em to mom. heh.) and the waiter/busboy dropped some silverware and hit my shoulder. I was all”Dude – i KNOW you’re trying to get my attention and all…” and he grinned and nudged me “Rosita’s – where you can “get forked”!” at which time I BUSTED up laughing, as did mum n dad too – Brilliant! *g*
The pup – who I cannot get to TOUCH mexican food, was all about the salsa, the enchiladas, the redsauce, the beans, the rice! The child who I cannot FORCE salsa down, cleaned out TWO BOWLS of it! omfg. She ever tells me it’s gross again and I’ma beat her. *L*
So then! It was Miss A’s mom n dad’s anniversary last night, and they were having aparty out at a bar, so Dad and I hopped into the van and went out there for a while to say congrats and chat with some people and stuff. Then – it was getting dark and he drove and we had to be up early early, so we came home and got papa into bed by 10:30. Me? Not so easy. I tossed n turned and finally got to sleep at about… oh… 2:00 am.
The alarm went off at 4am.
At 4:01am, I decided I really didn’t NEED a shower, and went back to sleep.
At 4:20am – Papa called and woke me up, and we were on our way a scant 10 minutes later. heh.
Where? Oh – we had a training session in Anchorage that had a special speaker. Nana Moosie was nice enough to let me go and watched my girls for me, so I wouldn’t worry while I was gone and we went on up to Anchorage for a whirlwind morning of meetings, and then had a leisurely lunch, picked up a friend, and headed right back home again. We got here bout dinner time (Where the pup ate a ton AGAIN! methinks she’s hitting ANOTHER growth spurt! or it’s a tapeworm. hahaha!) and boy was WE tired. Course, I curled up and slept on the way home in the back of the van, so while I was stiff and sore, I wasn’t exhausted. poor Papa was WHUPPED.
I did end up in bed at an horribly early hour for me, collapsing by 10:30, and sleeping clean through until Nana Moosie called to see if the pup was going to church this morning. Another quick nap after the pup had left, and i’m bright eyed once again. Hee!
How was YOUR weekend? *g*
