The Pup’s First Big Concert on the BIG STAGE at the High School – this was the end with the entire 1,2 and 3 grade classes up on/around the stage. Mrs. L, the music teacher, is a FAR BRAVER PERSON then I’ll EVER be!

Click through to see the Notes if you can’t find the pup. Heh. Took me a while too. She’s in the middle of the picture, sitting on the edge of the stage, where they sang “christmas is a time for love” *g*

The concert itself went really rather well! I don’t know how Mrs. L does it, for sure. She pulls things out of these kids that is simply amazing. There was even a performance by the second graders that was very much like Stomp – you know those guys with the garbage cans on their feet? Yeah – they used snow boot stomping, brooms swishing, snow shovels banging, shaky “itchy itchy ice melt” and rubbed together gloves (brrr its really really cold!) and chanting – it didn’t quite mesh at the end, but man – there for a while they had a serious beat goin on!

The Pup’s class was up front to do a making cookies song, where she was a “stirrer” – her rhythmic addition was to swish her wooden spoon around the bowl then click the spoon agianst the bowl three times (Stir it up, stir it up, mix mix mix!). And – just becuase we know it would be MY daughter – she lost control of her spoon, it went flying and she had to rush a few steps toward center stage to retrieve it. I think she simply needed to show off her outfit, myself. *L*

Auntie D was closer down front and said she got some excellent pictures of her (and I cannot find JJ in any of those pictures – i KNOW he was in there! Though the only reason I found the bug was because he was on the risers near the pup… SO! MANY! KIDS! gah!) and I’ll post those later one. It was fun! It was WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE in too small a space!

And a GIRL asked the BOY if he could JOIN HER IN THE BALCONY! GAH!

And! For those wondering? the pup obeyed the ‘no waving’ rule until the very very end. Then – there was no stopping her once she found the boy waving at her from the balcony. *L* She done good!

So! The FIRST BIG CONCERT!

outfit

The pup has her FIRST BIG CONCERT on the BIG HIGH SCHOOL STAGE tonight. Oh the EXCITEMENT around here! She told me this morning that she needed to wear a nice skirt, I told her ok, already knowing that gramma and The Girl had picked out a christmas outfit for her, and were going to gift it to her early so she could wear it tonight.

Ah – but she needed SHOES! I didn’t see the outfit until lunchtime, and I’m so glad I waited, because I was able to score the PERFECT SHOES – which is very important, you know!

I raced to payless, and told the lady I needed dress shoes – black or pink or something. And she said. “oh! what size?” and I said 1 and she said “I have ONE MORE PAIR! here!” And low and behold – it was a pair of PINK BARBIE FLATS with FLOWERS on them! That match the darker accents and the jewels PERFECTLY!

AND? they were ON SALE! for NINE BUCKS!

Needless to say – I decided to forgoe the more practical matching everything black shoes, and got the pink. She’ll wear them with everything ANYWAY so it’s all good.

So she came home, and sat down RIGHT NEXT to where the outfit was sitting waiting for her to get home and see it, and she talks and tells me about her day and all sorts of things, and then! Then! she saw it, and her eyes got BIG “WHOSE IS THIS??? WHO WHO OH MOMMA LOOK AT THOSE SHOES!”

OH yeah. New clothes ROCK. And it didn’t stop there – she put the shoes on RIGHT away, and then it was even more oohs and aahs “The jewels! and the pink! and the pretty sparklies! and the JEWELS! and they match the SHOES! Oh MOMMA!”

She’s a pretty lucky pup, that one.

Then – total cuteness overload “OH! and mom? we’re not supposed to wave at you from stage? So I’ll be TOTALLY thinking of waving at you when you wave at me, kay? Kay. Oh lookit my OUTFIT!”

Oh yeah. Smiles all around.

Picnic, anyone?

Where’s the pic-a-nic basket?

Early (ok – mid) morning trip across town got some very nice and chilly Alaskan Dawn photos.

This is my submission for this weeks PhotoHunt: Evergreen, + extra point for being ‘planted’ outside.
