Well then.
So – the whole Little League experience is done for the year. I’ll post their team photo’s as soon as I get them in. They’re mailing them and mine are late getting here. But! a good time was had by all. We had the last of the activities – a team party for the Girl’s team on Saturday. She recieved an award for being the most improved catcher, and Coach M seems to think she’ll do just fine next year in the major league.
The boy’s team arrived in STYLE for the closing ceremonies as he and his 2nd place team the Reds were ushered to the front gates like this:
They were the TALK of the ceremonies! One of our boys’ dads is a part time driver, and his boss donated the ride because the boys got to the championship. They road around town and visited their friends houses for about an hour beforehand as well – sipped soda from champagne glasses and generally had a wonderful time.
The pup did really well her last game too, got to play catcher and everything. She really enjoyed this season and is already looking to next year to learn even more.
While the two oldest were a little disappointed not to make allstars, momma was glad, as it means the season is over instead of having another 3 weeks of conflicting schedules – I even lost weight walking all over that darn park 18 million times… specially on days when I had two games at the same time at opposit ends of the park. Even added 13 pounds to the exercise at times while I was carrying the nephew with me!
i didn’t really notice the difference until I realized hanging my keys from my beltloop was making my pants fall down – as well as walking through doing grocery shopping, my back didn’t start to ache until near the end, instead of within 5 minutes after getting there. I guess it’s a good thing.. *L* I don’t see a difference, but the sister says she can. Hrm. *L* odd, really. After asshole leaves this time around, I’ll likely start walking sometimes with the sister. we’ll see.
Other then that – enjoying my time off, enjoying this week of no games and no homework to simply take some time for me – but alas must reformat my computer tomorrow. *sob* because it keeps rebooting itself and it’s a problem that’s just getting worse and worse.
So we’ll go with a reformat and start all over. Must burn some cd’s now for backup purposes. *pout* feel sorry for me, ok? ok. heh.
GRRR!
So – Games called on account of rain tonight, which means Lessa got the chance to play and be all caught up on homework and generally get things done! Right? WRONG! some fuckhead decided to take out a telephone pole AND OUR POWER for THREE FREAKING HOURS!
Grrrrrrrr.
So what’s a girl to do? well! after cursing to everyone who would listen (and calling the neighbors to make sure it was EVERYONE’s power, not just mine heh.) and in light of what the boy and I did to our hair just last week….
Well! The girls, were understandably jealous. And although they were not…. officially… of the age where we had agreed they could do whatever they want to their hair, we decided that if they didn’t bleach it first to where it was REALLY bright (ala the boy and mom) then we could you know, play. a little bit. heh. So, that, and some braided hairstyles later, and it’s smiles all the way around…
And the pup! she was not to be denied either!
Fortunately, the power came on about that time. We were beginning to eye the cat and dog………..
So out of town tomorrow – the girl is off with Gramma to her game in Anchortown, and I am off to Homer with the Boy for a double header against two homer teams. Wheee! Whew. 3 more weeks and Little League is over for another year. Thank goodness! Momma’s getting TIRED! *L*
Urg.
Man.
I’ve been going to school for 3 years now, and 38 classes later, I’ve run into my first asshole professor that I REALLY can’t deal with. And it’s not just me. 4 of the 7 students have all filed formal complaints over him already, and it’s the 2nd week of class. This is going down as my worst class EVER, and all because of the arrogant asshole with no clue how to teach, who thinks being a condenscending dick will get us ADULTS to listen to him. Stupid fucking idiot. I want to reach through the screen, grab him by the back of the neck and SLAM his skull into the desk.
And I’m usually such a nice person. *Smirk*
In other school news – finished my senior project to RAVE reviews by the prof, and a few nitpicks by TBF that will be fixed during my two week break before my final (FINAL!) quarter – in which I will only have THREE classes instead of four, and be one of very few very lucky chica’s who get to do portfolio all buy itself, instead of attempting to balance with another class. I’m stoked!
For those interested – the web version of my Senior Project
Also – I’m pleased to report I got an A! in my Advanced Life Drawing class! WHOOT! Actually, the cover of my senior project is from one of my life drawing assignments (abstract form – basic sketch drawn by hand, brought to photoshop to finish up to my liking.) and even _I_ liked my final! Hrm. maybe I’m just going to have to admit this old dog can learn some new tricks…. though this is what I think of self portraits:
Heh. that was back in the 2nd week of classes. I hate self portraits more then anything in the world. *L* Got the whole class giggling over it though – so that was a good thing. The final presentation with some of the work accomplished is here.

In still OTHER news.
The kids are almost done with school – in fact, the boy has already had his Class camping trip (had a BLAST – played pranks on the other cabins and on the last night after the girls lights went out, the boys leader gathered the boys together, taught them a ‘love song’ [Goodnight, sweet heard, well it’s time to go…] and took them around to all the girls cabins where they seranaded the girls! all together now… awwwwwwwwwww!!!) the girl is on her class camping trip tonight, and will return tomorrow.
We’ve started Little League season, and are off to a rocking and rolling good time – all THREE of the kids are playing this year! We did get the nephew and the pup on the same team, so that cuts down a little of the commuting, but even so, I’ve got at least one thing everynight off the week. the calendar is FULL! Exhausted already, we are! Everything for the last couple days has been cancelled however, due to rain, which is good as all the nephews and neice AND the pup are all sick, sick, sick! Pup climbed into my lap night before last with a 103.9 degree fever. It was down by the next day, but today it’s been hovering right around 101-102 for the most part. She sleeps off and on, and then bounces off the walls and tells me she is NOT sick at ALL and to LEAVE her alone!
We had the pups birthday party last saturday as well. A rollicking good time was had by all! Though we did move it to gramma’s house due to gramma playing Amazing Grace and falling to hurt both her ankles, and being laid up for a few days. Gimpy Sue that one. Then it was to the carnival, where even more fun was had, and I spoiled their dinner with ice cream, then it was back to aunties for dinner of tortilla pizza’s and THEN! *whew*
Actually – that brings us up to date. *L* There’s pictures of the kiddo’s games up there as well (check side menu from the link on the pups birthday party) and everyone’s doing good and I figure that eventually (like.. Friday, since there’s no more school then!) I’ll get to sleep in on a regular basis for a while! whoot!
Hope you’re lives are every bit as full as mine right now. Now if only I had someone to drop like 100,000 bucks in my lap so I don’t have to worry about getting work after graduation. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
dammit.
*grin*

OMG.
One last thing.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!
(Thanks Miss Sassypants for the link!)
Oh. my. god.
So, the boy calls from school today and says that he forgot his permission slip and the money for the class camping trip, so I head over there to get that to him – we didn’t know if he’d be able to go on the camping trip until today as it was, as he had to pull up his grades – a single F and he wouldn’t be able to go. Right up until MOnday, he still had an F in math. He was told today if he passed his test, he’d have a C- and be able to go.
He passed his test. Yay!
Not only that – but Mrs. W stopped me in the hall and said “He has SO picked up the ball here – he’s really made signifigant strides, and he won’t be seeing me next year – unless he comes to visit because he misses me. Which of course he will. Right?” and he rolled his eyes. He was in danger of retention through first and second quarter, started to pull up the grades in the third quarter, and it’s looking like he’ll finish a year without a single F – one D and then everything else C’s and above. I can live with that.
I’ll let HIM live for that. *L*
Anyway – so after that, he drops the bomb on me. “Mom! Tonight’s the last dance of the year, means I get to go too, cept I was sick yesterday so not sure if I can go can you talk to Mrs. M for me?”
Me – “You get to do WHAT??!?!?!”
So I go talk to Mrs. M, she says that yeah, since he was at school today, he was good to go to the dance and she’d make sure his name was on the list, and it was all good.
Well. it’s all good for THEM! what about ME?!?
My little baby boy – off to his FIRST SCHOOL DANCE?!?! oh. my. god!
So he says “Mom! Call Aunt J. and see if she can cut my hair!” and then minor panic because she couldn’t so it’s an emergancy call to the haircutters, and Miss Holly snuck him in at 4 o’clock to get that wild mane of hair into nicely buzzed control again. Then it was “My slacks are missing a button!” so it’s off to gramma’s for a needle, I had thread, and buttons. SHe didn’t have any but gave us some cash and we were gonna buy a button set, but well, the pants were too small. So! Another pair of slacks, that were quickly washed, checked to be sure they were in good condition, his favorite shirt grabbed, the rip in the seam sewed up quickly (needed that needle after all!) and then we got him fed, and dressed and through it all – momma was panicing.
He’s just a BABY!
So – he submitted to a couple pictures even…
Now – that second picture, I pouted and said “You are not old enough!” and he rolled his eyes “No mom. I’m old enough. YOU are not old enough. Now take the darn picture will you?” and I sniffled. I snuck the one below as he walked into the dance.
So, the dance was from 6-8, and I dropped him off on time, and about 7pm I was feeling smug because he called and said that he was bored and wanted to come home. Ahha! So he wasn’t quite ready! And so I went and picked him up and then….
Then I found out the real reason.
The girl he’s had a crush on since, like, birth, was there. This is her first school dance too. But she was there with her boyfriend. My boy’s heart was broken. “I know now I’ll never have a chance with C, mom. She was there with her boyfriend.”
Oh man. Suddenly, I was no longer worried about my well being as he was growing up, but suddenly it was “that bitch broke my baby’s heart! how DARE she!” but in true Good mom form, I just told him he’d have plenty of chances in the years to come, and he’d get himself a girl far too soon for my liking I was sure.
So now he’s playing his gameboy, and I’m here sharing my pain with all of you, and now I’m off to do still more on my Senior Project, that along with all this growing up stuff, is bound to put me in an early grave. *L*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And I pulled a muscle in my upper back that hurts like a bitch. Damn. Ow’s all the way around.
But! Lookit them pictures -ain’t my boy a STUD? *Grins*
Pup: nope.
Pup: I WASN’T SLEEPIN!
